You can order replacement filters from the company you bought the trash can from or google the name of the can for parts.

Q: Is it sufficiently sealed when closed to render it roach proof?

I do not have problems with roaches, so I cannot be completely sure. However, I would not see an issue. It does have a plastic bottom. However, everything up from the base is smooth stainless steel that would be difficult for a roach to climb. Also the lid closes down over the top of the insert with garbage bag so a roach that made it up there would likely have trouble getting inside. Finally, it does have the odor control system that will help to discourage roaches from even trying to enter.

Q: Is there a way to hide the bag?

The bag will fit over the edge of the liner which comes out of the can. It does not show outside the can. Live my trash can. Fingerprints do not show!

Q: Is the lid mouse-proof or could mice squeeze past or gnaw through the hinge?

There is no ‘seal’ and the lid is dependent on the weight to hold it down. it is plastic lined.
