Amazing Perfect for the Money
For under ten bucks this thing rocks. We hold a blow torch to it to melt tin and it is perfect. Tin doesn't stick to it, heats up nicely. Hasn't cracked. Happy so far.

Great crucible, durable and giant!
It did have a tiny chip at the rim, but that was likely due to the shipping company. Overall I think this was a great buy for what I needed.Pro's:- Handles high heat extremely well, my foundry gets upwards of 2800 degrees Fahrenheit if my thermocoupler is accurate, and this handles it like a champ- Great for large casts, this allowed me to cast a full size mastersword in a single pour- Relatively durable, so far Ive done 3 large pours and a few smaller ones with no cracks or excessive slag build upCon's- Non that Ive foundJust a reminder that its always a good idea to preheat any crucible used in a flame based foundry. Last thing you want to do is destroy it faster than necessary.

The second was the charm
So, I ordered this crucible and when I opened the box, it was broken into 10 or 15 pieces. I got on the computer right away to start my exchange or refund.. I was hoping for an exchange because I really wanted this item.. I received my new crucible 2 days later, packed the way the first one should have been, in perfect condition. The return process for the damaged one is probably the most convenient return Ive ever had. Take a pic of the label they send to your email, take the return to the UPS store in its original box,. and they tape it up and print the label and send it off while you're back at home, enjoying the perfect replacement.. would definitely order from them again.

Great companion for King of Random's foundry
It works well with melting aluminum. I used it in a foundry I built following the King of Random's YouTube video. It works well, but I had to enlarge the foundry's inner cavity a bit. If you use the same assembly, make sure you allow >2" gap around the crucible, and be sure you have the lid. The crucible needs careful curing in the foundry by slowly heating it in the foundry until bright red.One thing I wish I had done is to have *carefully* drilled holes on each side of the rim for hooks to extract the crucible from the foundry. I do not recommend you do this without understanding that you can irreparably damage the crucible, but once you cured it, you surely cannot drill any holes.

Always Amazed
As I ventured into melting aluminum cans to pour into molds and make new products I needed a better way. So I ordered this crucible based on price and size, I received it and was amazed at the quality. It even has a pour spout to help guide melted aluminum into forms. Overall in very happy with this purchase!!!!!

Perfect for my Mini Metal Foundry!!!
The media could not be loaded. Mini Metal Foundry crucible. I bought this for Grant Thompson's 'Mini-Metal Foundry'. It fits perfect!. I have been melting holes into my stainless steel homemade crucibles and this is a serious upgrade. Note for shipping: this is not on Prime, but I ordered it Monday night and it arrived Thursday morning... fabulous!Pour spout: I have seen negative reviews about the dimple for pouring, or lack there of... mine came with a perfect pouring dimple in it... check out my pics.Size: I did not use the expensive plastic containers Grant had listed to build the interior of the foundry. I bought similar sized ones from the dollar store... WIN!!! Same with the containers to form the lid. You just have to understand the basic principle of how much space you need and then purchase a container that will suffice. I even found the stainless steel dish scrubbers (for added structural integrity... you need it) at the Dollar store. All that to say, I have just a hair more space on the inside of my foundry than Grant does, therefore, this crucible fits perfectly and I can get charcoal all around it. I'm not sure how tight it would be If I had bought the expensive blue buckets he had listed. I also purchased a little container from the Dollar store to act as the feeding hole in the lid... saves the time of having to cut one with the hole saw, and it's a lot less messy... check out my pics. If you have any questions, give me a shout, I have built 2 of these guys and had great success.Make sure you pre heat it a lot... I fired up the Foundry and kept the heat low... did this 3 times.

Well built!
This was a great product, but I only wish I had more details in regards to the overall dimensions when I bought it. It was a little too big for my forge to start with so I had to make a new one to properly fit it, but it worked great after I made a new forge. I've included the approximate dimensions below for this product. I hope this helps someone somewhere before they buy a product that might be too big for their current project.Walls (Thickness): 1.5 cmDiameter (outer): 14.5 cmDiameter (Inner): 12.0 cmHeight: 16.0 cm
