I am kinda like Mr Pitt when it comes to socks, they have to be just right. For years, I had been buying Dickies socks to wear because they were relatively thick and comfortable. However, they just do not last. Holes would appear on the bottom within a few short weeks. Fed up with constantly buying socks, decided to try these. At $25 a pop, they would have to last roughly 4 times as long as the Dickies to be of equal value AND be comfortable. Well, they are unbelievably comfortable and appear that they will have longevity. I was little concerned that they may be too tight on the arch but they fit like a second skin. Soft, warm and thick as I do not wear shoes in the house so they kinda function like a slipper. One can tell by feeling the fabric that they are made to last. They somehow keep my feet toasty warm with no sweaty feet. The only downside I can see is they may be a tight fit in your shoes due to the thickness so keep that in mind. The socks have a two year guarantee so time will tell if they live up to that. Assuming they do, they are worth the price and your feet will thank you...Well, it has been over two years now and these socks have held up remarkably well even considering the torture I put them through. The outside integrity shows no signs of wear what so ever. The inside is beginning to show wear but again, not bad for what they have been through. I cannot recommend these enough, they are the best socks that I am aware of, by far.

These socks are great! Wonderfully thick with extra cushioning and good moisture wicking. Perfect for winter use. However, I would recommend getting a size larger than normal because they come out of the dryer a size smaller than you would expect.

I live in a cold climate far removed in the mountains and found myself wearing backpacking socks in my daily life. As a certain point I remembered that smartwool made some of the thickest and most comfortable socks I have historically worn for my time in the backcountry. I decided to try these on for size for the last couple of months and have LOVED them so much. I have many other pairs of sock that are significantly thicker but they are not as warm as these, I have many other pairs of socks for daily life but they are not as versatile as these, I even have running socks that do not breathe as well as these. These can easily fit/grip inside of tennis shoes and knee high snow boots equally. I've only been wearing them for a couple of months now but there isn't a single thread out of place, but I can update this in a couple of years to comment on the durability. For now, I am going to go buy more pairs of these.

Smartwool socks are the best sock I have ever worn. I purchased some 20 years ago and they are still wearable. The sock is comfortable and keep your feet warm even wet. You can not go wrong with this sock.

I am a working cowboy and wear boots all day every day. I find these to be the most comfortable and durable socks I've found. Don't worry about them being wool -- they are not itchy at all. I always turn them inside out to launder, as instructed. Slightly oversize -- I wear a 10.5 boot; but medium socks. You get what you pay for with these socks.
