A superb book
I had been looking forward to the arrival of my copy of Happy Mind, Happy Life, having already followed the related podcast content, and it is every bit as good as I had hoped. So much wisdom distilled into clear, practical, unpatronising language. And just so enjoyable to read! Some health books can scare you by pointing out all the hazards out there to watch out for, but Rangan’s do the opposite - they lift you up, reassure you, and make you feel everything’s going to be ok and that you have the power to make yourself feel better. Rangan’s understanding of what happiness is - and what it isn’t - makes total sense. I love the fact that he always has one eye on our evolutionary past, which informs so much of our current state of body and mind. Rangan believes that most of our ills are linked to the mismatch between our fundamental nature, honed by millions of years of evolution, and the vastly different world we now find ourselves in, and I think he’s absolutely right.He shows us what we can do to live more in tune with this fundamental nature, even in the modern world.I don’t know whether it’s the pretty pictures (they certainly help!), but, having already devoured the whole thing in one day, I can tell this is a book I’m going to be picking up again and again to refer back to. Thank you, Dr Chatterjee, for your monumental (and ever-growing) contribution to human well-being.

Excellent, Must read!!
I first came across Rangan by listening to several podcasts he featured on. I’m so impressed with this book and I’m only a quarter of the way through.I have other books on happiness but this is making me stop and pause, like it’s actually having an effect. The exercises dotted throughout the book are easy to implement in your life no matter what your lifestyle, and he does consider all lifestyles in this. It’s being a doctor and seeing lots of patients that allows him to do that.The style is simple, but that’s a really positive thing!! Some books on happiness can be hard work but this style makes it easier to read and take in the message with more impact, even if you only have 10 mins here and there to read.It feels like a handbook. I’m already thinking about which friends and family members I can pass this on to who would really benefit - but only if they’ll return it to me afterwards!!

Some good advice here…BUT not good on kindle
There is some solid sensible advice here. The content is good and well written. However some of the pages don’t read well on the Kindle Paperwhite and I would advise against buying it in that format (and think the publishers should have checked this!)

Great book, made me happier ;)
I’ve been a listener to Dr Chatterjee’s podcast for quite a while and when I thought I needed an extra boost and ideas for the New Year I checked out the books. Great read, just like the podcasts it’s easy to understand and follow. The ideas and tips given are very accurate and have already made a difference in my life.

Everyone should read this book
I was going through a stressful time in my life when someone suggested a listen to a podcast of Dr Chatterjee, during which he mentioned his new book. I found the podcast inspiring so decided to give the book a try.This book has been so eye opening. Some of the things he writes in the book I already knew, many people probably do but sometimes it’s important to encourage yourself to really reflect on different aspects of your life. His philosophy encourages you to evaluate your life in many ways and offers real and simple ways to tweaking things. One of the great things about the book is that you can tailor it to your own life as there’s are different suggestions and even if what he suggests doesn’t fit, you are encouraged to find another solution. There is a chapter in the book that looks at the role of your phone in your life and potential negative impacts. The irony that the day after reading that chapter my phone broke which forced me to implement suggestions in the book. I accept that, whilst inconvenient, the breakdown of my phone needed to happen, to force me into truly implementing change. This book has been mind altering for me and hopefully in turn will be life changing. Don’t think twice about buying this book, if you are already considering it, I know it will help you to enhance life

Pretty okay book about how you can coach yourself to be more aware of your way of living.And with some guidance how to improve your daily life to avoid stress and anxiety.

Easy to implement points n soothing style
I loved everything about this book. All the points are totally doable. The best part is that nothing is pedantic or prescriptive, we're sort of nudged into tiny baby steps to reinvent our health. The cherry on the cake for me was the style-- so soothing. Totally in awe
