Great craft puzzle
These ROKR puzzles are brilliant. My 9 year old has made several with the help of his Dad. The gramophone is a great addition to the collection. It comes with a small record to play , but it will play any record. The sound is pretty terrible and you have to constantly turn the little handle at a steady speed to get it to play.. but it looks great once finished . The puzzles are quite easy to assemble, the instructions are picture based and very clear. But you do have to follow the instructions precisely, or it wont work correctly , and you can't take it apart once assembled to change and mistakes.

part of the holy trio of wooden build kits
the nice thing about this type of build kits is that its more to them after the kit is done you can play records, show a film, or play music from an instrument. hope there comes more of these kitsprosi really liked to build the kit it is pretty advanced but should be achievable for most( couple of tips down the review)the decorations are beautiful on this build kit and the horn is majestetic.the music the gramophone plays is more than good enough when you take in the fact that its a build kit for its price.dislikesome of the parts were a bit too hard to get out of the board. nothing got damaged but might been a bit less hard.the gramophone wooden plate record holder is flat and nice but the the part thats go trough it and to the speed wheel makes it unstable. i belive the speed wheel drags it a bit to the side so the top get unstable. if the unstablenes gets fixed it would make the record far easier to play right.there are these metal studs that connect a black ring onto, i felt i used too excessive force to get them on and in right place.overall a good build experience and fun when the music started playingsome advicego trough the build manual a day before building it to get familar with it its a pretty advanced manualbuild slow and well rested.stack up on tealight's unscented found this works great for gears while candles become too fat, wax the gears torughlyif some wood parts are too tight wax it.when you start up the first spin from the handle. hold thickest part and cycle it a bit forward and backwards to loosen up gears so you dont break the handleholy trio of build kits so far rokr classic gramophone, rokr vitascope, ugears hurdy gurdy

Another fantastic kit!
I buy these kits for my son, he’s severely autistic and mainly housebound and loves building models, especially with lots of moving parts!Despite his disability, he quite adept at these models, the instructions are easy to follow and understand and each model provides hours of enjoyment. This gramophone is his latest build and it was a pleasure to watch him put it all together and play the record that came with it!Highly recommend!

Great fun
I love rokr and all of there products. This is by far my favourite one out of them all. The instructions are very clear and easy to follow. This is one of the harder designs to assemble. I would start of with something else before trying this one. When actually playing the hand rotation makes a horrible noice and it will only work truly if it is driven by the motor. Is it sad the sound is made by a speaker and truly old fashioned. The disk with music on is a bit wobbly which dose not help with the music sound. Great design otherwise.I thought I was rather exspenive compared to there other moddles and you. Not getting that much more.

Rokr gramophone.
IT'S ROKR SO ITS QUALITY!!THESE ROKR 3D PUZZLES NEVER COME SHORT OF ANYTHING BUT PERFECTION. THIS IS MY FOURTH PUZZLE AND I MUST SAY THE ATTENTION TO DETAIL THAT THESE GUYS PUT IN WITH THESE KITS IS ASTOUNDING FROM THE INSTRUCTIONS TO THE QUALITY OF THE LAZER CUT PEICES. I CAN'T RECOMMEND ENOUGH...

A working gramophone, made of plywood!
I found this to be a really interesting build which I spread out over several days and thoroughly enjoyed the process. Unlike many other 3D wooden kits, this one doesn’t just rely on wood, but also uses metal and plastic fixings, and even ball races where appropriate, making a smooth running and long lasting device. The instructions are clear, precise, and easy to follow. Yes, you have to hand crank it, but that’s part of the charm. Off grid music in an age where everything needs external power or batteries. My tips would be to leave the plywood panels sealed in their shrink wrapping until you are ready to begin construction. I built mine during the winter in a centrally heated house. The plywood started out damp and flexible, but began to dry out and start to become brittle over the following days. If I were to build another, I’d keep the plywood in a sealed polythene bag and just extract parts as needed. I also used a scalpel, to cut tabs and ease parts out of their backing sheets. Finally, if something doesn’t fit then re-read the instructions and double check you’re using the right parts. This is a well designed kit and the correct bits will fit perfectly.Supplying a demo record with the gramophone is a nice touch. The music is quirky and goes with the whole retro vibe. The platter won’t accept a 12” disk, but it doesn’t seem likely that anyone would wish to hand crank away for the 20 minutes per side necessary to play an entire album. Much better to save the beloved vinyl for a “proper” record deck, and instead scour the charity shops for more appropriate 78s and 45s.In summary, I think the Rokr Gramophone looks good, is fun to make, and provides entertainment after the initial build. Far more than just another dust gathering ornament.

Well made kit
Fairly complex and time consuming to build and obviously the final record player isn't exactly amazing, but I enjoyed the several evening I spent building it.The wood is well cut and the instructions long and detailed.
