Christmas present for my 3 1//2 year old great grandson. He will love it.

I bought 1 for my baby and she completely loved it. So I decided to buy 4 more and they have been her go to book when si wants to "read". And she loves pushing the button to listen to the songs.

Got this as a gift for my nephew who loves birds and loves music, and, unfortunately, they took it out of the plastic wrap and discovered it didn't work but too late for me to return it to Amazon. None of the songs on any of the pages work. They replaced the batteries with brand new ones and it still didn't work. I was initially disappointed because I think my nephew would have loved this book and what we got was basically a regular board book but for 4 times the cost of a normal non/musical board book. So, I posted a negative review. Since it was too late to return the book through Amazon, I contacted the seller, who got back to me right away and was so nice. She not only replaced the broken book but also gave me a second Ditty Bird book of my choice for free. This time I decided to open them and check them before giving them to my nephew and I'm happy to say they do work. And they are so cute! I really think he's going to enjoy them. I got the farm animal sounds book because he loves animals and the nursery rhymes book because he loves music and singing. There are a few different Ditty Bird books in the line- there's something for every youngster. They kind of work like those greeting cards you can get that play a song every time you open the card, except there's a small "button" on every page that you press to hear the song or animal noise. It's a clever idea for baby books and the illustrations are adorable! I don't feel disappointed anymore!

I volunteer at a daycare to play with the babies who are all one year old. I purchased two of these books so the little ones could have baby music to dance and clap to. They absolutely love to hear these songs over and over. Of all the toys, these books make them the most happy. They are sturdy but I don't let the babies hold the books because although they are made out of strong cardboard, toddlers are strong and can bend the pages. I set the book on the window sill and the sound amplifies so five or six dancing babies can all hear it well. A really good purchase. Buy AG 3 button batteries on Amazon- it takes 3 batteries to run.

The very first time I heard one of these songs play (we have two of these books) I swore I was going to return it without letting my daughter see it. But we bought it for entertainment during a weekend of car trips (relatives in town) and it was too late to get anything else. She usually hates the car and starts fussing pretty quickly, but she literally played with these two books for over 3h. She played with no other toys. She cried when I wouldn't let her bring them into the house (to keep them interesting for the car). She still asks for them often in the car (she got them 2 months ago), and they often entertain her for a decent amount of time, but that first weekend was like a miracle. All the adults in the car were ready to leap out while it was going at full speed, but we all agreed that it deserved 5 stars for the amazing effect it had on my daughter.The songs cut off at awkward places, the kids' voices are annoying, the music in the background sounds poorly recorded and amateur... But my 18mo thinks they're the best books ever, so I suppose my opinion doesn't really matter. Amazon should pair them with ear plugs, but otherwise enjoy!
