Haya Heng Long German Tiger One 1/16 Radio Remote Controlled Tank 7.0 Version Sounds & BB Shooting & Infra Red Battle

As a complete newbie to the rc tank world (stumbled across videos on YouTube!), I had to do a little research into the hobby before purchasing my Tiger 1 from Big Boyz. The brand name Heng Long featured regularly among the top three brands, with several 1/16 scale rc tank forums singing the company's praises. Having been around since 1986, they seemed an ideal choice...This particular Tiger 1 is the basic all plastic version (drive and road wheels, tracks, gearbox, hull, turret and gun barrel). The torsion bar suspension that the real Tiger tank had is reproduced in metal, and its great watching it work while the tank traverses over obstacles. In fact, all Heng Long tank models employ the same suspension, drive and road wheels that the real tanks they are modelled on have in real life. Other neat features are: the noise of the engine starting up, ticking over and while it drives, the smoke effect that comes from the exhausts, working headlights, the sound of the main gun and machine gun firing, the whole tank recoiling when the main gun is fired, the ability to shoot BBs from the main gun, the turret turning and the main gun elevating and depressing, all adds to the realism of the tank.Let me say straight off the bat that these tanks are not rc toys in the traditional sense, but are accurate models that are designed to be modded, upgraded and painted to whatever level your experience and budget will stretch to. The all plastic versions run well on hard surfaces, carpets, short grass, concrete, gravel, fairly compact sand and earth etc. When the metal and steel mods are added, the stability and manoeuvrability improves dramatically - these mods include steel gearboxes with better torque, tracks, wheels, turrets, chassis and hull, gun barrels etc. The mods available are truly staggering.Battery charging time is quite lengthy, about two hours for perhaps 30-45 minutes of driving time, depending on how the tank is driven, so I shall be looking to buy one or more batteries to keep the driving going. The radio controller is quite basic, but you can develop quite a deft touch to get the tank to start, drive and stop in a realistic way. The controller has a multitude of different settings for driving, sound effects, lights etc. Two or more tanks can be driven (with separate controllers) when the infra red accessory supplied is attached to the turret.The tanks are definitely NOT for racing against other rc cars, jumping ditches, or performing stunts, that's not how they designed!!! If bought for this purpose, then you will be disappointed. The tanks drive at scale speeds appropriate to their original design, which in the case of the heavier Second World War tanks wasn't much over 30-40mph! The fun is in recreating battles with other tanks, and watching them climb over obstacles. I would strongly suggest a prospective purchaser watch one of the many YouTube videos available and see what 1/16 scale tanks are capable of.If you're looking to get into the 1/16 rc tank hobby, I would definitely recommend purchasing one from Heng Long. You can start with the basic plastic version as I have, or you can have one that already comes with one or more metal and/or steel mods, such as the tracks, wheels etc. I'm looking forward to upgrading mine, when my budget stretches to it! All in all, I'm extremely pleased with my Heng Long Tiger 1... 😎

This is a really good starter r/c tank, immediately ready to use bar charging the battery and very easy to use. Big Boyz are a great company to buy from and I'll be buying more from them in due course.
