Bought these replacement filters for a machine I purchased. They are NOT cheap. Two filters was more than the entire machine itself! That's crazy. They say they are hepa filters but I can see right through them. I'm not a hepa expert but my Dyson vacuum has a hepa filter and I can't see through that. Doesn't really work for keeping me smoke free from my neighbour's crap that comes through the wall from next door.

I think the first time I purchased these, they were advertised as working for 6 months. That's not the case and I see that they have updated the description to say 3 months, which is accurate. There are problems with these units in so far as you can replace the filters with brand new ones and the "change filter" alert LED keeps blinking away. And for some people this is true right out of the box: the "change filter" light will not stop blinking even though the unit and filters are brand new (and yes, even when the outer plastic wrap has been removed). So something is definitely wrong or shoddy with that indicator. The noise level is noticeable but not bad. The air flow seems good. The design is clean and looks pretty good. I would give this a higher star rating if the "change filter" LED light operated as it supposed to and if the overall cost of ownership was less.Not bad though. I've owned large circular HEPA filter units from HoneyWell and, except on the lowest setting, those were louder and over time HoneyWell randomly decides to stop offering HEPA replacements. I got tired of that so I avoid HoneyWell products.

These filters were $39.99 and jumped to $49.99. Since they require replacement every 1500, I might consider buying a different air purifier. $49.99 is pretty steep for a basic filter.
