Pack of 2 Spears 1429 Series PVC Tube Fitting, Coupling, Schedule 40, Gray, 1-1/2" Barbed

I bought these to connect sections of 1.5 inch corrugated pond tubing. I already had a 25 ft. piece from The Pond Guys. Then I bought 3 20 ft sections at Lowe's. I had ordered these barb connectors to connect them all. Note: the tubing from The Pond Guys is sturdier than from Lowe's. So, it doesn't kink as easily. But Lowe's tubing was less expensive by a lot.When I tried to put the connectors in the tubing, I could not get the tubing over the first barb. So, I looked up how to do it in the web. The advice was to heat up a container of water to near boiling and immerse the end of the tubing to soften it. I did that and was able to get the tubing over the first couple of barbs by working it really hard. Maybe a couple of inches. So, I think this product is not for the pond tubing. But I definitely won't need hose clamps for pumping pond water out during water changes. If I need more, I will order with the tubing to get a better match.

I purchased this item to mend a hole in my pond tubing for a waterfall. While this was far more expensive compared to one I could get from a competitor that’s under a dollar, the key reason I selected this was because it’s PVC, which allows it to be used with PVC glue.Worth noting, I was unable to get it to fit all the way in my 1.5” hose, however, despite this, it did not leak, even before applying pvc glue. I added some anyway out of extra precaution.5 stars for performance, but 4 stars due to value/price.

I found out later a local hardware store had these for dirt cheap, like $1-2 each, but these are pretty much the same and did the job.

Connects the two hoses perfectly no leaks

These arrived ahead of schedule. They are study and functional. I use them to join together lengths of 1.5 inch plastic discharge hose from my sump pump.

The description of 1-1/2" barbed pvc tubing fitting lead me to believe it was an inch and a half diameter fitting where as it is an inch outside diameter and a half inch inside diameter.

works as designed

I had a vinyl hose for a boat shower application. I had to sand the coupling down and put the hose in the oven at 120 degF to get the hose on. It was already 105 degF in Texas.
