Fits in the 2012 Prius Key Remote
After daily use, multiple road trips, and hundreds of car unlocking/locking from afar, my 2012 Prius car remote finally wore out. I got the dreaded "Key Battery Low" warning on my dash. Guess what I ordered via 2 day shipping immediately? The Duracell CR-1632 was easy to install into my Prius key. The battery works great, the low battery indicator is off, and I can now confidently chauffeur my around once again without worrying that my key will run out of juice. Changing a Prius key is really simple, and there are plenty of instructional YouTube Videos out there (search for "how to change a Prius 2012 key remote battery). Here's a quick rundown on how to change the battery for those who are curious (you will need a small flathead screwdriver - like the eyeglass size):1. Push the key release button on the left side of the key fob to remove the valet key.2. Once the valet key is removed, you'll see a small horizontal slot on the end of the remote. Put the valet key into the slot and gently twist to pop the remote open (it will split in half along the outer seam).3. Take the bottom half of the remote (with the green circuit board) and flip it over in your hand to have the circuit board drop into your hand.4. Remove the battery using your fingernail or small flat head screwdriver. Place the screwdriver in the opening near the single prong at the bottom of the circuit board to remove. Place the new battery in the battery compartment.5. Place the circuit board back into the bottom key compartment with the side where the buttons are facing up. Make sure the two buttons are at the top end of the fob (end where the Toyota Logo is/opposite end where the valet key goes in).6. Place the top of fob back on and push both pieces together so the fob snaps shut. Place the valet key back into the slot, then take your car out for a drive!

A story of dead key fob batteries -- and next time, these will save the day!
Here is some very good advise: Keep one or two of these batteries in your wallet! I drove a friend's Highlander to Costco on a very hot Florida day. We are going to leave but neither one of her key fobs would start the car -- with several hundred $$$ of groceries to deal with. A long excruciating story involving us two old ladies, both a bit crippled (LOL), climbing up into the high cab and taking a tow truck ride to the dealer, but leaving her car at Costco, and possibly getting a rental car. The parking lot was too full and busy to put the car on the tow truck. But the dealer right away determined the fobs were dead, put in new batteries and then the tow truck ride back to Costco, where the car started up right away. This two hour trip to Costco turned into a 6 hour tiring day!I may have those that will disagree with me but she was leaving the fobs in the car all the time (in her garage) and I had warned her to take them away from the car so they were not "communicating" with the starter, thus draining the fob batteries. I should also note that the car is not driven often. I did a lot of research and did find a few clues that I might be right. I did come across this piece of advice buried on the internet, but don't know if it actually works. If you have a dead fob battery, hold the fob up against the starter button and there will be enough energy coming from it's battery to start the car. So I bought these batteries for her to keep in her wallet and I am sure they will work just fine when needed. But this frustrating episode taught me a good lesson -- I will never have a car with this feature!

Lasts long, and simple to install
It’s a battery, and does what it’s supposed to do. Used in a car fob, and lasts about a year of every day use.

Duracell quality at bargain price for Prius Car Remotes
These batteries work great for the keys to a 2010 Prius iV. I got the two pack to replace batteries in both key fobs since they both had the original batteries from 6 years ago. When your battery is low on the key fob, the doors don't magically unlock and the start button doesn't work. You have to use the manual key to open the car and then touch the fob to the start button to start the car. Doesn't sound like a big deal, but when you get spoiled by not having to remove the keys from your pocket to unlock/start the car, it becomes one.Great value, fast shipping. These would have cost 3X as much at the local drugstore. Only complaint is that they were sent in a HUGE box and the extra labels/tape used to package them together obscured a lot of the text on the package. Next time, please reduce waste by using a padded envelope and skip taping everything together and obscuring with stickers. Would rather have a packing list. Luckily, I used the batteries right away so having the labeling wasn't as critical as it would be if I stored them for future use.I wanted to buy cheaper batteries on here, but I guess I have watched too many Duracell commercials over the years and trust in the brand. When it comes to being able to start my car, I need reliability over cost when it comes to the battery that powers the key fob.

Duracell the best
I only use Duracell. Just look on YouTube to see for yourself. Duracell will always land in the top 3 as a great battery overall.
