Safari Ltd. Orange-Kneed Tarantula Figurine - Realistic 8" Arachnid Figure - Educational Toy for Boys, Girls, and Kids Ages 3+

This spider is realistic looking and large. My son is obsessed with bugs, spiders in particular, and he love love loves it. It has 4 bendable legs and 4 stationary legs (middle 2 legs on each side). The price point was great. I hope to find different species of tarantulas with this company. I would buy each one.I would recommend this toy.

I bought this big guy for my 6 year old son. While he doesn't look as realistic as a lot of the other Safari LTD toys, he's still pretty cool. He's HUGE and my son loves him - so that's a hit for me. He doesn't seem to notice that he doesn't look like a *real* tarantula (which would be hard to achieve without hair anyway, hehe). I recommend. Maybe not for trying to scare someone, that may not work out - but as a childs play toy, it's great!!

I bought this for my grandson's 6th birthday knowing he was afraid of tarantulas (spiders in general). He was terrified! No amount of persuasion would change his mind. We brought it back home with us until he is able to process his fear. It looks very real except it is larger and not fuzzy.I would buy again for someone who is not so afraid of spiders.

I love solid well made figures of actual unusual creatures. This spider appears to be quite accurate, a close to the actual size of a tarantula. Two front legs and two back legs have wires deep within them that allow for some bending, posing. The middle two legs on each side do not. Like all spiders, its has 8 legs. The two short appendages in the front are pedipalps for sensory touch and reproduction. This spider was a hit with 5 year old grandson, and one is perched on the desk near this computer.

I use this to scare my coworkers and family members.
