Literally every song is great
CD Arrived perfect, on time, factory sealed and without a scratch on the actual disc. Amazon comes through as always. Also, if I remember correctly (I really gotta start reviewing CD's WHEN I get them:P ), the album was also one of those where the mp3 version is more expensive AND the physical purchase gives you the mp3's anyway to download immediately here on your Amazon Music Store. So yeah, a great purchase for anyone looking to bulk up their music collection right there ;)As for the actual album, it's superb! I admit, I'm no longtime/hardcore Smiths fan, so obviously I'm gonna pick up a 'Best Of' album expecting to get a taste of everything good. To someone born in the middle of their heyday, it is a truly fantastic collection of music. Are they all "the hits"? Are these all of their "Big Singles"? I have no clue :PInstead, I know that I don't skip a single one when it's playing. The New Wave/Alt Rock sound (correct me if I'm wrong about this, but "New Wave" in the UK refers more to a punk/post-punk sound than in the US where it basically means 80's synthpop) throughout is pretty consistent from song-to-song, and Morissey kills it on vocals with that lilting British sound you expect.I like that consistency; every song here sounds like a hit to me. They all capture what I liked about what I had heard from The Smiths, and I got what I wanted and much more. The 23 Songs here cover poppier stuff, more melodic sounding tracks, angrier and angstier songs... but they all are brilliantly composed and come together so damn well in that signature sound. They all sound fantastic and uniquely "Smiths" even though the songs may be tonally different or move at different tempos or change up the instrumentation. At the end of the day, the point I'm trying to get across is:IT ALL SOUNDS BRILLIANT.To me, that's what a 'Best Of' album should do, so it gets a 5-star for that. If you, like me, like The Smiths but aren't well versed in Smiths history and don't want to dive deep into their discography to decide on something to buy, rest assured, this CD is great. Every song is awesome yet it covers a lot of variety within this one group, and makes for a worthy purchase. Enjoy it!

Johnny Marr
I heard a few songs on the radio and loved Johnny Marr's playing. In fact the whole band is tight...I think it depends on the song if I like the vocalist as he really has limited range and sings within a certain idiom, he's great on some songs and well on others if it wasn't for the back ups band players I skip... Its all a matter of taste I suppose and I bought it for the music mostly.

Awesome Compilation
I came to like The Smiths long after they weren't together anymore. But now hardly a day goes by that I don't listen to either The Smiths or Morrissey. I'm not going to comment on a song by song basis because so many others already have and I'm sure other listeners will probably comment on songs that are not on this compilation that should be or songs that they wish were not included here. You know, you just can't please everyone. I think I paid $5.00. That is a real bargain. Even though Morrissey is flamboyantly gay and this is reflected in his lyrics, as a heterosexual male, I still love listening to him sing. He was supposed to be performing in Chicago recently, but his show was cancelled. I don't recall the reason. They rescheduled for later in 2013. Might be the last time anyone from around here gets to see him perform live.
