Love my Kobalt trimmer and how easy it is to replace the trimmer line cartridges .. once in awhile the line is wound too tight and you have to reinstall … but very happy overall

I ordered here because Lowes quit carrying the ones for my trimmer. These are terrible! The twine is wound underneath itself so it won't feed. It works great on just grass, but once you get to any sort of resistance, the twine breaks off. Isn't that what a trimmer is for? To edge around things like fence posts and garden beds? I had it break when it hit pea gravel! Come on!! And when it breaks you have to stop, open it up, and refeed it through the holes. I didn't even make it 10 feet and it broke. 10 more feet and breaks. Constantly!!! I didn't really have a choice but to keep fussing with it, making my irritation soar, because we have an even outside this weekend and the yard needed done. Good thing this came in a 3 pack! Avoid this unless you have aaaaallll the time and patience. I almost just tossed the entire weedeater and drove to town for a new one!

Pretty sure for the price, as others have said, these are NOT brand new Kobalt brand, but rather used spools that have been restrung. The spool itself looked exactly like the one I removed from my trimmer and fit perfectly. String dispensed normally and cut the crap out of my yard mess. Can confirm it's a good product so far.If you're wondering which model this fits, the KST-120X is the original Kobalt 40V trimmer that's dark blue in color that was sold several years ago. I bought mine in 2014. I do NOT know if it fits the newer lighter blue model, but since Lowe's sells a different SKU for it, I'd imagine it would not.

This looked like the line was coming on a Kobalt Spool, but actually, it is not on a Kobalt Spool. It is just on a small plastic spool that will not fit my Kobalt device. I was able to wind this line around my existing spool, but I plan on buying line on a Kobalt Spool for future use.
