Does it go over your ears

Yes, but you need to buy ear cushions because the stock ones are very bad (aka ears pressed up against your head).

On the xbox one game audio is bleeding into my party chat. is there any fix for this? even at a reasonable volume and mic away from my face. any fix?

Turn off the side monitoring for your mic. You can do that by connecting to a PC and then adjusting the settings there. Whats happening is the headphones have their own monitoring feature (meaning you can hear yourself, used to help determine how your audio is coming across) and this can probably echo over the mic monitoring that xbox offers already. Other option is to manually adjust the chat/game mix option in the settings, not the guide tabs. It gives you " do nothing, reduce by 50% or reduce by 80%." Since the headphones dont have chat/game mix buttons or knob, you have to do it manually here.

How to play the sound form xbox on these headphones?

You need to pair it. Plug in the receiver to controller outlet. Hold power button on headphones when Xbox is on.
