KFI Products 101120 TigerTail Tow System

After picking up my first brand new atv I was looking for a winch to go along with it. While doing research I came across the TigerTail Tow System. After reading lots of info and reviews I went ahead and pulled the trigger. It’s wasn’t an easy decision because it’s expensive! $255 for the system and mount. You do need the mount also.First time out with the extended family for the weekend and we used it 8 times. Mostly for pulling someone out of the mud. I also towed someone back to the campsite.After that weekend my brother decided to buy one.ProsQuick and easy to useYou don’t get your hands cover in mud like using a tow strap. See attached pictureWhen towing someone you don’t get jerked around because it automatically keeps tension.Easy to clean. If it does get muddy it self cleans the big stuff off when you retract it.Portable. You can easily switch from one machine to another.ConsExpensive. You could buy an ok winch for the priceThe parts are sold separately. If you’re not paying attention you might be shocked when you only get part of it and still have to spend another $70.The cable is not as log as a winch.In conclusion I would definitely buy it again! It was worth every penny. There was never a situation where we had to use a winch instead.I would give it 4.5 stars if I could because of the minor cons.

The Tiger Tail is one of the first accessories we add to any new ATV. Been running them on both our ATV's as well as our SxS, and while they do not get used every ride, we use them enough to make them worthwhile. The Tiger Tail does not replace a winch, but for either a quick pull or a tow home, much faster. Last year we were riding in the UP of Michigan in early May so there was still some snow left in patches. One of our riders has a Yamaha Raptor and being 2 wheel drive, got stuck easy in the snow. I was following in a Maverick X3 equipped with a Tiger Tail....simply would pull up, Raptor rider would grab the Tail...pull thru the snow patch and back to riding. Did not have to wrap or store a strap so it was super easy. Also have used it to tow a disabled Renegade home on the Hatfield-McCoy trails....great not having to worry about running over a loose tow rope when going up and down the mountains.

Easy Install fantastic quality

This product is one of the best upgrades I put on my ATV, and it's a necessity on the trails if you ride with others. Winches are great and serve one type of purposes that the Tiger Tail was never meant to compete with. This is a tow rope, which any ATV rider knows, but it's retractable. Have you ever towed someone, only to have the rope slack get stuck under their tires if they zoom faster ahead than you're towing? Not so with the Tiger Tail, which retracts and picks up the slack rope as the person you're towing gets unstuck and gains on you. Then, when you're done towing with a traditional rope, you have to stop and wind up all the muddy rope. Not so with the Tiger Tail, it does it itself, and because of the retracting friction, most of the dirt and mud skim right off! It keeps constant tension, and works amazingly well. When not in use, the hook has a nice storage hole to latch into. It's been packed with mud and dirt when we're riding, but never gets bound up or anything. To clean it off, I focus the hose stream on it and unwind it, then let it retract back...cleans the rope and the wheel in less than 15 seconds. The rope is a thick synthetic type that will last for years and years. I'm a huge fan of this product, and thing it's a welcome leap in tow rope technology...and for the price, you owe it to yourself to invest in this instead of a makeshift system.

Works great for towing a race car with your pit vehicle. Quick and easy install.

Was able to use it a few weeks after I got it, car stuck in the ditch with a tire off the wheel. Used this on my truck to pull it out, no problem at all.Highly recommend.

One of the best investments I've made on my atv. Some people complain that it's "just a tow rope".. It's more than that, it makes life so much easier and I've never heard a single person complain after I've pulled them out without having to unroll a rope, figure out where to hook it on both ends, pick it up out of the mud and store it somewhere causing everything else in the storage to become muddy as all hell. It's a life saver, tough as nails and works quick and easy every time.
