Great self defense weapon for anyone. Easy to remove from sheath quickly.
This is a great self defense knife. It’s very sharp and the handle is economic. You are able to attach the sheath to your belt but the only thing I wished this knife came with was with tools to adjust the sheath clip (all you need is a screw driver and a L wrench). I believe that everyone should have a self defense weapon that will protect you even if it a gun. Since I’m not able to have a gun because I’m underage I am using knives until I can carry. I highly recommend this knife. If you have big hands I don’t know if the knife would fit properly in your hand.

Extremely Nice!
This review is for the Masalong Outdoor Survival claw made of Damascus steel. I have seen other claw knives offered by Masalong and they seem pretty decent overall. Admittedly I was not expecting a lot when I ordered this particular claw. I figured it would be nice, but nothing really special. Well, I have to admit that I was very surprised when it arrived. It came in a nice form-fitted box that was sealed in plastic, and it was shipped in a padded mailer. To sum things up, this is a very fine piece. The pattern of the Damascus steel is distinct and pleasing to the eye. The handle fits the tang as nice as knives costing many times this amount. There were no gaps whatsoever. The handle was very well fitted and has a texture that facilitates a comfortable and solid grip. The tip of the blade is extremely pointed and should penetrate with ease. The blade is quite sharp, but not razor sharp. Really, this is a good thing because knives with razor edges generally do not hold their sharpness after a bit of use. The top cutting edge is equally sharp, as are the serrations. The finger ring is a nice size and is chamfered for comfort. The entire claw reeks of quality and fine workmanship. It's solid and looks great. The kydex sheath is pretty nice as well. The sheath holds the knife securely, while still allowing for a safe and easy draw. The belt clip that is attached to the sheath is equally nice. It attaches to one's belt with ease and is very comfortable to wear. The clip can be placed on either side of the sheath for right and left hand use.Considering the $50+ dollar price, this is an amazing product. All in all, this claw represents an exceptional value that would make a most interesting and unique addition to one's collection. Martial artists should also appreciate its design and quality. If you are looking for a high quality claw that won't break the bank, this is it. I am very pleased. Stay safe out there, and God bless America!

Awesome karambit
I have two of these I think they're awesome. Very sharp and easy to hold/ handle. The sheath is a hard plastic which I've had no problem with it holding in place, even trying to get it to "fall out". The sheath is also easily adjustable for right or left side which is great since I like carrying one on each side. Overall, definitely the best bang for the buck.

The knife is great, the holster... pretty bad
The knife is heavy enough, the handle won't slip, the balance is fine, it's pretty easy to work with it, flip it, etc., great! I like it. Maybe the material is not hard enough, not sure, won't know that until I want to sharpen this knife one day in the future. I have had another knife from the same brand - it is fantastic, so sharp that you can shave out of the box, not this one unfortunately. The way it's sharpened now is 3 out of 5, could be way better. But the worst thing in this set is the holster. The way it's designed you cannot quickly remove the knife if required, if you pull it out at a wrong angle, and it will rather happen this way, it will get stuck inside and you won't be able to extract it until you push it back and down (if you carry is horizontally with its handle looking up). The thinnest part of the knife goes inside a tiny hole inside the holster, made by two separate parts, connected together, and it gets stuck. Definitely not self defense, not quick extraction for sure unless you know exactly how, which can be tricky in a limited amount of time given to you. That's why it's 4/5. I'd say, the holster is rather 2/5, but the knife is good to ruin its grade. Finally the button on the holster, holding it on the belt, is pretty inconvenient, the lock can be easily moved aside and even if you sit down and accidentally push the button the holder will unlock and you will get a swinging holster on your belt - very inappropriate and too risky. So decide yourself. Another knife, that I got from the same brand, doesn't have these issues, the holster holder needs to be first unlocked and then squeezed from both sides to get it off the belt - it's tricky even if I do that intentionally and it's pretty good, will never lost this holster even if I press it from an y side. I regret the company switched to this "improved" design, bad decision.
