Love the taste! Makes my mouth water just thinking about it. Best umeboshi I have ever tasted sort of melts in your mouth!

Everyone has their favorite umeboshi. Mine are homemade by my neighbor in Nagoya, so they're not exactly available here in the US. These come as close to any of the many types I've tried to purchase from Amazon. They are a balance of salty and sour, and just a tiny bit sweet to take the edge off. I only wish they would come packed with more shiso.

I was pleasantly surprised these umeboshi were tender and easy to handle. First, I like to make hot umeboshi tea by adding one to a large cup f hot water to sooth upset stomach, or cold. When using to cook, remove the seed and make a paste t add to pasta seasoning, make sushi (umekyu), macaroni salad by mixing umeboshi and mayonaise, etc. It is not cheap but the effect it has on my prepared foods make it all worth it. This brand was the best one I found in Amazon so far.

The liquid from the umeboshi leaked out and onto other contents in my box. Including masks. The flavor of these is very mellow which is nice to switch things up sometimes. Not salty which is good. However I don't know if I'd buy again cause I'm pretty sure the price is really marked up.

Super sweet taste as if stevia. Cannot make a proper umeboshi " low sodium" & I wish I'd seen that in description. Taste is yuk. Would love refund to put $ into Osawa or Clearspring. Package is nice though. Mitoku is out of biz they were great too

I admire and enjoy washoku and really wanted to try umeboshi. I really wanted to like them and this is a respected brand, but I just couldn't quite get to liking the taste. Maybe I'd like another variety, but I'm not sure.

My family was very happy. I'm glad I bought it.
