What is a scroll frame?

It is used to stretch a piece of needlecraft work between two dowel-like rods, which are secured at the ends by bars held in place with small bolts and wing nuts. You loosen the bars in order to change the position of the needlework upon which you are working. I like to use the scroll frame because it does not leave the "ring" marks you get when using a hoop. Scroll frames are available in needlework stores and in needlework catalogs.

What is couching in counted cross stitching?

Couching is always done the same way. It dosn't matter if you are cross stitching, needlepoint, quilting, embroidery etc. It gives you the ability to lay a thread (in unique shapes) (or something too large for the holes) and make stitches over it to secure. Be brave and give it a go, it is a great way to express yourself no matter what medium byou are using.
