INITIAL IMPRESSIONS AND SOME TIPS
I am writing this review as a “First Impression” review. First, I did read the instructions and did fully understand them. I am a home owner not a professional mason or cement worker although I do have have a much higher understanding of masonry and cement products their use, limitations, and proper maintenance. I can only comment on my experience using this product and realize that my review is not all encompassing. Second, I am located in the Midwest where road salt is used heavily during the winter and so I decided to use this product as a means to seal a driveway to a three car garage with the intention of protecting it as much as possible from salt and freeze/thaw damage and surface popping, which, by the way had started so some extent. The driveway is 23 years old and in surprisingly great shape. I would like to get another 15 to 20 years out of it. Thirdly, I did modify the cleaning recommendation and did not follow the manufacturers cleaning guidelines that called that the surface be cleaned with a Prosoco cleaner and degreaser. The reason is that the driveway had not been used for two years as the home had been in foreclosure and unoccupied for that amount of time. There were no oil or grease stains anywhere. This is when I decided to just power wash the driveway and remove surface dirt, residue and mildew and I allowed the driveway two days to dry. Fourth, I used a pump hand sprayer like the ones used for spraying for weeds to apply the Saltguard and turned it up to a nice fan shaped spray and moving slowly making sure to overlap the previous pass and not puddle the Saltguard sealer. I had to move slowly enough not to puddle, but, not too fast and wind up applying the sealer too thinly. Also, do not apply on a windy day as you will lose a lot of the product into the wind and the surface will dry too fast.So far I am impressed with the outcome. The driveway looks good, not blotchy, and Prosoco says that the surface should retain the protection for three to five years. We’ll have to see about that, but, so far so good.

Works
Works like it says. Used for many years and keeps moisture out of concrete! Also keeps from spalling from year to year. Definitely apply every 5 years.

Good product
Sealer goes down easy, easy clean up. Only thing is it made the driveway a little slick

Doesn't work 100%
Had a new concrete driveway poured in April 2024. In September 2024 I applied this product following the instructions. I have not used any salt on the driveway. Only Sand a few times. But the cars bring a little salt in on the tires. I noticed a few spots in the driveway that have some scaling which I'm guessing was caused by salt so I'm a bit disappointed in this product.

Make sure the floor is dust clean before sealer application
The media could not be loaded. Like you seem the difference between two spots of floor-sealer work before and after finish

Coverage was great
My new concrete pad is 12' x 50'. I rolled this on rather thick so it would soak in to the new surface and had about one gallon left. 6 hour drying time, no problem. It even rained hard the next day and all I saw were water beads. This stuff worked great.

Disappointed with the Results - Concrete Looks Unacceptably Dirty
I recently purchased Prosoco Saltguard with the hope of protecting my concrete surfaces from the harsh effects of salt and chlorides. Unfortunately, my experience has been far from satisfactory. Despite following the application instructions meticulously, I’ve found that it left my concrete looking incredibly dirty and far from the clean, protected surface I was expecting. The product promised to be a reliable barrier against salt damage, especially during winter when salt and chlorides are prevalent. However, not only did it fail to live up to this promise, but it also adversely affected the appearance of my concrete, making it look neglected and poorly maintained.I cannot recommend Prosoco Saltguard based on my experience. It’s disheartening to invest in a product that not only fails to perform its intended function but also leaves your property looking worse than before.I hope this review helps others make an informed decision before purchasing this product.

This is amazing.
It goes on clear and dries really fast. We used on concrete around our salt water pool. We ran out and had to wait for more to come in. It rained in the meantime and the area that wasn’t sealed was wet and dark. The sealed areas were repelling water!
