Great help with these older motors

Bought this used at a great price. Covered my motor but also several others and gives a great overview of types of motors, how they differ, and why they are called what they are. Step by step for a lot of repairs/tear downs w/good pictures. Its a shop manual referencing a lot of special tools but there's usually ways around these tools. I know little about motors so a detailed step by step works best for me. With the easy availability of parts through Amazon and the wicked high prices of having work done at a local repair shop to say nothing of the time and inconvenience. It seems like the way to go for those who enjoy the challenge and the sense of accomplishment that comes when you are successful.

Great book lot of information

I like this book it covers a wide variety of things. The local lawn mower shop can't teach me or they would be out of business. This book goes a long way to inform you how the system works and how to trouble shoot. Great resource.

Product is good as far as it goes. Does not offer any troubleshooting advice. Just covers how everything should be put together. Does show the governor linkages but does not do much in explaining how it works if you do not have one of the two types (mechanical or air vane). Mine is neither since it connects to the throttle plate through levers and springs. I was really hoping it would explain why when everything is cleaned and installed, the motor only runs about 2 minutes and quits. No troubleshooting help at all! If you need to take one apart and put it back together again, this book will help you do it but if it doesn't run correctly after that, you'll have to look for help elsewhere.
