Q: Are reading time/date stamped and can it output to excel? i my case i could run a usb cord to it, if it outputs continuously.

While you can export the recorded data from the included software into Excel (with time date stamp) the logger will not output data in real time as it's recorded even when plugged in. The logger must be stopped before the data can be transferred from the logger to your PC.

Q: So i read the answer to ""does this work with osx/mac" as a definitive no?

RHT10 is Windows based only. It will not work any other platforms.

Q: what kind of specific battery needs . Indicates a 3.6V lithium but that model and size ?

This unit will take a 1/2AA battery, 3.6 V lithium.
