FANTASTIC...AWSOME...WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!
I get a lot of lake affect snow on the west side of Michigan. This mat arrived the night before a big storm so we installed it that night. It worked great! I wish I had found it last year because I was snow bound with no way to get out. This mat is very well constructed, heavy and durable. Better than anything else on the market. The seller shipped it fast so that was greatly appreciated. I AM HAPPY, HAPPY HAPPY!!!!!!!!!! Invest in quality because it is worth the price. Merry Christmas!!!

What an awesome product!!!
This mat worked better than I expected. I added a before and after photo showing the difference it made at our front door. The house isn't designed that well and whenever we get accumulation, the roof over the front door develops an ice dam. As it melts and refreezes, the porch becomes solid ice. That before photo has about 3" of solid ice. I placed the mat and within 24 hours, that ice was melted. I added some additional photos to show some other enhancements I made. I found a waterproof cover (designed for extension cords) that wraps around the mat-to-power connector as that area tends to pool water. I'm pretty OCD and wanted some extra electrocution protection. I also add a locking outlet cover and lock to the mat itself. This thing is pricey so I wanted to make sure it didn't walk away. And yes, I did also add that railing to improve the safety even further. I'm so happy with this purchase as it's solving an issue we've had for two decades. Thank you HeatTrak!!!

Impressed
We live at the base of the Wind River Mountains in Wyoming. The north side of our house gets severe ice buildup. This came yesterday and I placed it over At least an inch and a half of solid ice. By morning, I had dry concrete underneath. I have used less expensive mats in the past and they don’t hold a candle to this one. Now I use my old one as a parking mat for my snowblower. Sure it’s a little more expensive but it works great. My hope is that it will last a while.

Works great
We haven't had too much snow since purchase, so this review is based upon a few inches of snow at a time. Works great! Make sure you get all necessary cables. We initially missed a set and had to wait a few days for the additional set to arrive, so that we had all mats connected and able to run at the same time.

"BEWARE & BEWARNED" Save your time & money! HeatTrak Mats are moreless an exspensive door mat.
Basically Cheap & poor quality tire tread is all these mats really are. Very bad customer service. Also Mats only have a 6ft cord attached so youll need and extention cord unless you have an outlet at every entrance.Becarful not to wipe your feet on mat as it will tear rubber particles off with shoes exposing wire treads which could result into eletrical shock. review isnt even worth 1 star.

Good? Time will tell if it's worth it for my snow situation
So I bought just one of the 5 foot by 2.5 feet ones to see how it goes before dropping another 450 bucks. Granted I'm not using it as intended initially. All the snow sheds off that metal roof and lands in front of the garage door packed down and hard. So for the last 7 days straight I've had it on top of all that hardened snow and this photo is the progress with the mess so far so it is melting while very slow. I do think it'll work better when I use it how it's supposed to be (putting it down on bare ground before the snow) but I'll be curious to see how it does when an entire roofs worth of snow lands on it. Will update in a month or so because I'm on the fence on whether it's worth it yet or not.

Good above 20 degrees F, BUT NOT RATED TO HAVE PACKAGES ON THEM, EVEN WHEN OFF
These are pretty good above 20 degrees. Don’t turn off when done melting snow, though, because they need to be on awhile to dry out. Otherwise, you’ll get ice on top and underneath. When it gets below 20 degrees F, these aren’t very effective. I use the 2 big mats on back patio and near grill. I need to have an electrician install 2 more outlets so I can use each big matw/attachment. I bought 1 step melter and 1 sidewalk runner, but haven’t used them yet.The company did a good job of explaining the electrical draw. I worked in the biz for 25 yrs. The short story is each mat draws 5 amps. Plugging 2 into an outlet is fine, OR plugging in 1 w/attachment (ex: step mat) is also fine. Don’t use a multi outlet strip, because you would overload the circuit. For example, I plugged 2 big mats into GFCI on back porch. That’s 10 amps. If I added attachment to ea, I would be adding 10 amps. Hitting 20 on a 20A circuit isn’t smart, especially because of resistance in circuit.CAUTION: NOT RATED TO HAVE PKGS ON THEM, EVEN WHEN OFF. That’s a drawback, since I hoped to make life safer for Amazon delivery drivers. If I had been less eager when I saw these,I would have done the smart thing and bought just 1.They are well made and will last a few years, I believe, if stored flat in basement in summer. They arrived rolled up and it took a couple days for them to flatten.

A Bit Pricey But Good
Very challenging to keep the heavy ice and snow loads off the front entrance of my mothers house in Maine! However, this may really does the trick all winter long. In an hour or two everything is so slushy you can just sweep it away even after a big storm.
