Best bang for buck. Maybe best PERIOD?!
I have Digitech (RP 500, RP 50 & BP 50), Boss (ME-80), and Line6 (POD HD500X) units. They each bring something to the table I want. But this Ampero has EVERYTHING i want in a single unit, and is so easy to use, and dial in new tones/patches. Bought it for the high gain Mesa Rectifier tone, but found the EVH 5150 tone is pretty impressive, as well as Bogner, Soldano, Engl, & Marshall tones. I've now got SIX (6) distinctive hi-gain tones in the arsenal, ready to go with a tap of the switch. I don't usually like clean tones, but found several on this unit, which have inspired different ways of thinking & creating. I also found some acoustic guitar settings! Added bonus....there are bass patches on here too! I enjoy the Ampeg & Mesa sims for myself. And the drum machine is pretty impressive too. Does EVERYTHING I want, in a single unit and it's now my primary tone-maker. The Digitechs, Boss, & Line6 are on the shelf now....backups.

Monster tone, great value!
My main rig is a $1200 Headrush pedalboard, bought this Ampero for travel. Cannot believe the tone this thing puts out. I keep going back and forth between the Headrush and the Ampero, admittedly tone is subjective, but there are several tones on the Ampero that I think sound better than the Headrush - at a fraction of the price. And this is the only unit I know of in this price range with balanced XLR that sound very good running into my PA with almost no hiss at full volume. High quality unit, perfect for my travel setup. If it had a full size expression pedal (which it does have inputs to support) I would consider this for a full time rig, it’s that good

Amazing quality , very versatile
Just got and plugged it for 20 minutes so it’s little too early but here is what I feel about it so far:I’ve always played pedals (not the most expensive pedals) then wanted more tones without adding a million other pedals so got this one after some research.Update:I recently started messing with it cuz my pedals board was too big to carry around if I needed to take it to some events, I mean seriously this thing is now of my mind, it is so easy to make your own tone and it is so freakin versatile, it can sound so real and so good that its becoming my main unit. I have my own personal tones and I love it.

One Of The Best Additions To My Music Gear This Year
Didn't realize how much I wanted an amp modeler until I got this wonderful device. A little overwhelming when you first plug it in with 99 channels, an effect changing switch for every one and the expression pedal, but you quickly get the hang of it. It is completely customizable allowing you to recreate popular Amp combos, with many built in popular amp heads, cabinets, and pedal effects. Plenty of videos online to answer how to do almost everything on this device. Expression pedal is interesting, doesn't "click" on and off when you press hard on the nose of it, so sometimes you have to look at the screen to see what state it's in. It defaults as volume, can also be used as wah but you have to add that effect to a channel first. The Ampero UI can be navigated by touch screen or using the knobs. There is some latency in monitoring while recording with default setup, but you can set your computer to use the system output instead of the Ampero to overcome this. This unit is incredibly fun.

Good for the money but has some shortcomings
I'm a bassist... so here goes...The good:-out of the box about 4 of the stock bass presets sound great to me!-very good amp and cabinet models: SVT, Fliptop, and Vox100 models are really great-Love being able to adjust mic model and mic position in front of driver-unit is generally sturdy and well built-very usable and simple-the editor software explains what the different effects are designed to mimic - that makes it much easier to find what you need. Editor was also very easy to use.The shortcomings:-no input or output signal level metering-balanced outputs cannot be setup as a fixed level pre-master volume for a direct send to mix, they just duplicate the unbalance outs.-input level cannot be set in presets to facilitate switching instruments with different output levels - this might be achievable with something like an eq in the front of the signal chain.-firmware update process was convoluted - editor could be setup to handle this more elegantly-octiver modules didn't sound good for bass at all to me (not a show stopper)-didn't have a rotary cabinet simulator (not a show stopper)For me several of the shortcomings listed were deal breakers. I generally like clean tight sounds and don't use a lot of effects. As a working bassist, I need a fixed level send to the mix so I can set my monitor level without changing the mix - some other units have this. Since I need to change instruments and need to do it quickly, the lack of preset adjustable input gain and metering make this difficult. I can't stop in a gig and adjust the input gain for compression and drive levels, its got to be tied to a preset and pre-tweaked. Because of these I ended up sending the unit back (in perfect condition and perfectly repacked - but with the newest firmware ;).However, because of the amp and cabinet models I almost kept it to use for practice or at small gigs where I would only bring one instrument. It really did sound fantastic and I got a great sound really quickly. If you're a new bassist, not switching instruments like I do, this would actually be a good choice and would get you great sound at a nice low price.

Not for some but I like it.
I mean, it's hard to compare to analog pedals, but I like having all these different sounds in a single unit. And it's easy to edit, so I can adjust sounds to my preference. The looper works well (I'm just not very good with it...yet) and overall I'm very happy with this pedal system.
