DONT PUT UP AGAINST YOUR WALLS
So here's the thing, this is literally perfect for you to use as sound dampening for recording and such. Basically this means that this will remove the reverberation of your room, HOWEVER this will NOT work if you put it up directly next to a wall.Unlike foam, this is built for you to put space between your wall and the blanket, so all those people saying it made no difference this is why. Now to explain why it's like this, take an acoustic panel (not acoustic foam, two very different things) An acoustic panel is built so there is space between the sound dampers (foam, cloth, etc) and the wall itself, so usually these are more effective if you have 2 inches of space between the foam and the wall. Acoustic panels that are 1 inch away from the wall aren't super effective because there is not enough space for the sound to go through the sound dampeners, bounce off the wall, and die out and get dampened. All of this to say, make sure there is space between your wall, window, or whatever you plan on putting this up against, 2" or more is most effective, for me I actually have it on my ceiling (because a lot of reverberation comes from there) and it's about 8" away. Works super well.Another thing to note, this is not meant to kill the sound from leaving your room. That is a very different kind of panel, and those are called diffusers. Look up acoustic diffusers, and that will get you what you need.Hope this was helpful, and best of luck to you all

A Must-Have for My Portable/Travel Recording Studio Rig!
The media could not be loaded. I absolutely love the Filmcraft Studio Sound Blanket with Grommets! This product is something I will not travel without. The 72x80 inch size is perfect for my travel studio kit, and provides ample coverage to control sound reflections and echoes effectively. The grommets make it incredibly convenient to hang and adjust as needed. The blanket's build quality is outstanding, ensuring long-lasting use. Its dense material effectively dampens unwanted noise, creating a professional recording environment.Additionally, the blanket's portability is a huge advantage; I can easily take it with me just about anywhere. Whether for podcasts, voice-overs, or music recording, this sound blanket has significantly improved my audio quality. I highly recommend it to any content creator or musician looking to enhance their sound production setup. A fantastic investment indeed!

Worth trying out (AT LEAST)
Looking at all the bad reviews showcased as the first set of review for this products, I was kinda doubtful, but using this to lay of my organ Leslie in a live church setting where the Leslie speaker is near the drum, laying this blanket over the organ’s Leslie and mics has performed a whole miracle! The mics on the organ used to pick up the drums so much that neither instrument wasn’t clear in my in ears and sounded duplicated, but after applying this blanket, not only has the organ become much better and rich in its sound dampening, the open drum that are mic’d sounds crystal clear like never before. I am in shock. While I know other may have had bad or different experiences with this product, trust me, it’s worth the try, at the least!

Good at reducing high frequency noise
I'm using the blanket to block an open doorway to reduce recorder/server noise in my makeshift studio. I have it doubled up and hanging from nails. One of the metal eyelets fell out after just a few re-hangs on the nail. It's not a big deal nor does it affect the efficacy of the sound reduction in any way. From less than six feet away, the blanket blocks out the high frequency noise from the server almost completely. It makes the LF noise sound a lot farther away. Also, the low frequency noise can be filtered out of sensitive microphones much more easily now. For my application, I am very satisfied with this product. I had been dreaming up any number of $chemes to accomplish this task. I tried this before with a regular moving blanket. It provided *nowhere near* the sound dampening effect of this blanket. This product provides excellent value for the money.

Terrible! Look at these photos.
very poor quality, loose threads everywhere, appalling craftwork. These pictures were taken immediately upon opening.I'd read some of the reviews and seen a few of the shoddy craftsmanship, but figured 'what are the odds?'-turns out the odds are highly in favor of you spending 50 bucks on some substandard 'film equipment'50 bucks that you'll never see again.Unless you have a sewing machine and can correct the amateur work on this product, I'd advise you to look elsewhere.

Solid budget choice to help improve sound quality of room.
A solidly made sound blanket that does a great job in absorbing noise and echo as well as blocking out unwanted light. Great budget choice to improve your sound during recording without having to spend a lot on other more expensive options. Only gripe is that there could be a few more grommets on each side(only 4 per side) and the grommet holes could also be slightly bigger. Also would have been nice if they included some curtain rings or hook but you will need to buy some separately.
