Weaving Fate: Hypersigils, Changing the Past, & Telling True Lies

Future Classic
I really love this book. It’s very clear in the how to. I’ve only read it the once and intend to read again. One problem for me, being in the UK is, I’ve found it impossible and financially prohibitive to get hold of Abre Camino herb, it would be great if he could suggest a European road opener herb alternative. For me it would be essential to pick the herb myself. Secondly I don’t have a bath, so the guidance on taking herbal cleansing, magical baths is a bit lost when all you have is a shower - can’t really soak in a lovely herbal soup in a shower... so again, an alternative suggestion would be great. I’m only a beginner and not au fait with herb magic etc. Even so, I would highly recommend this book, I finished up buying a second copy for a friend.

Super-practical magic
If you want clear, workable routes into practical magic that aren't tied up into any one philosophy, Aidan is the guy for you. His writing is engaging and easy to follow yet never simplistic. I always thought his previous book, Six Ways, would make a very good self-directed magical skill-building course and Weaving Fate now refines this to three magical practices to bring about effective change about in your life. His mottos of go narrow and deep, and whatever works, works are very freeing if you've spent years bouncing from one magical idea to another and not really gelling with any of them. I highly recommend this book and his previous work, Six Ways.

A powerful synthesis
In this work, Aiden Wachter takes the wide variety of magical techniques from his first book and reduces them down into 3 powerful techniques for personal change. While these 3 techniques are simple to describe, they deal with altering the very weave of creation, The Web of Wyrd and Yggsrasil. They also engage with The Norns, who even The Gods must obey. The 3 techniques? You will have to get the book and find out.

Weaves a spell.
A great book, clear and tuned in to my particular wavelength like no other, will be getting copies for my son and grandson, the kind of book you want to share with those you love.

Excellent!
One of the best books on magic for a long while, obviously written from years of personal experience and experimentation, not the usual re-hashed stuff, cobbled together from other books that I've seen too much of in the last few years.

rambling
I did not learn anything other than the author's continuous ramblings about his childhood. I bought the book because of its popularity and everyone telling me how good it was. No ahah moments no secrets...if you know a bit about magic this book is not for you.

A Corrected Statement
EDIT: I MUST eat my words here. The more time I have spent with this book, the more I have come to understand the way that it works, and how intricate it is without being complex. This style of magic is a style of magic many people will balk at the first time they read - I know I did. I am part of Aiden's Facebook Group, and while everyone was in love with the title, I really did not care for it. I kept it, had a look through certainly, but ultimately the magic provided was not a magic I was seeking. But mainly because it isn't *showy* magic. The magic provided in this book could almost be acquainted with "The Secret" in that the focus is on changing the way the mind approaches and thinks about a problem. But, and I cannot stress this enough, *that is truly where the similarities end.*The way this magic works seems based on the principle of Patterning, and having finally come to a breakthrough understanding about this process within the last month, I decided to read the book again. Good God Almighty, I was not prepared. This is adult magic. This is workable, problem-solving, measurable, and well-rounded magic that can be combined with nearly any other form of magic that exists, and better - it is all based on writing, something which is in and of itself, magical. To be clear, I am getting nothing from editing this review. I am editing this review because it was incorrect. This book is valuable. It is so, so valuable, and I was in the wrong for having passed judgement on something I did not understand in the first read-through.Original Review:It's not bad by any stretch of the imagination. It's just not really for me. While the exercises are great for working through personal traumas and past issues, it's really more akin to "The Secret" in it's approach. Im certainly not knocking it, it's just not what I was expecting or hoping for when I read the overview.

Quite the journey
Great little manual. Aidans guidebook to future focussed and retroactive hypersigils is accessible and absorbing. The use of ritual and various concepts in the piece invites the reader to be super interactive and to venture into new ritual practices.Through following weaving fate I made my first essential oil blend, made my first charm bag and utilised a crossroads for the first time. The regular use of the black book inspired me to write in a way I hadn’t for years. It was well worth the read.

Interesting Concepts
There are some interesting concepts explored in the book about how to change your life in ways you really want deep down to change them. Whether magic or a psychological trick you play on yourself, I'm willing to bet that putting these concepts into practice is going to help you achieve what you really want out of life, and also make sure that what you want to achieve is actually worth pursuing to you or something you can put to the wayside. Super interesting concepts in here! Really love it. Will have to reread it and absorb it more.
