Very effective
Works so well that it fills up with bugs every night and requires daily emptying. I subtracted one star because it does not hang straight.

Am I missing something? This is absolutely worthless.
The media could not be loaded. So I was looking forward with great interest in like many others here who have fruit flies and those little flighty silver moths in the kitchen in zapping them. I even ordered two because the flies follow wherever food is being eaten and we eat at 2 areas of our home..HOWEVER...After 3 weeks I have heard one zap, a single time. That's right, ONCEDaily I would unscrew the base hoping to see if it had been doing its job and zapping but there was...nothing.I at first thought that maybe it was the location so I moved them around to different areas. No zaps.I then did the ultimate test: I placed this product on my bamboo food tray and right next to the plate of the meal I had just finished. 5 minutes earlier there were 5 or more tiny flies circling my plate. I then plugged in this product and placed directly next to my plate thinking there is no better logistics than the zapper being right next to the remnants of my meal.To my stunned disbelief after 10 minutes there were no flies to be seen with this blue light zapper within 4 inches of my plate. I eat tapioca with blueberries on it for a snack before bedtime and flies always appear when eating this so I do a second experiment to feel hopefully the pleasure of these menaces meeting their demise.Nothing.It's rather hard to imagine that both my zappers were defective when otherwise these appear to be working normally. I see pictures of others here who show theirs clogged with zapped bugs and I have to shake my head in disbelief in perhaps believing that these reviews were plants from family and friends of the manufacturer of this product. I am just a dad in the Midwest who was previously excited to rid my kitchen of these flies and moths and be cleaning out the base tray and dumping these critters into the garbage can.Plain and simple: this product for me is a fraud. $30-something bucks x 2, I could have used a manual flyswatter and had more dead insects. I tried. It failed. I will return.Buyer Beware.Check out my video. The fruit fly lands on the edge near the zapper and looks almost touristy in observing the bright blue light but going nowhere near it. I finally got bored and moved my finger to get the fly to fly into its blue light oblivion but, it decided just to fly away. How many ways can you spell R-I-P O-F-F

Great Zapper ever.
Great Zapper! I just heard all night crackling away all these flying insects. Bye bye annoying insects. I bulb is a nice bright blue that attracts mosquitoes as well. Also it zaps them so good that it just leaves pieces of everything. You can’t even tell what kind of insect it was?
