Good Directions 28" Verdigris Atlas Armillary Sundial with Brass Accents

This sundial is very well made and nice looking. It is easy to put together and takes just a little adjustment to make sure you have the latitude correct. It is made of all metal and comes in rust and green tints. I bought the green. The only issue I'm having with it is getting the base secured so it doesn't fall over. Still working on this. It is made to screw into a pedestal, but I want to put it on top of a large planter.It does keep good time as long as it's sunny. The sundial looks expensive and is very sturdy.

There was a problem with the original shipment but the company quickly corrected it. I received a replacement the next day. The Armillary was made well and looked great.

What's missing are instructions on setting the angle of the gnomon. It differs by location. Some instructions should be included to set it correctly. What's the purpose of the sundial if it becomes useless in its application.Would have given 5 stars across the board if the instructions were more complete.I would welcome these instructions for the Armillary I bought from your [email protected]

First of all this product arrived quickly and extremely well packed. Good Directions made it with as little parts as possible which makes the assembly very easy, only four easy to understand steps. it is extremely durable which is good since it can be placed outdoors. I thought of putting this in my office but it makes such a statement and look incredible on our mantel. I was also going to put it outside once it was nicer out but now I will need to buy another one because that one we have is not moving from the mantel. I understand Good Directions makes other products like Weathervanes, Cupolas and birding products, I will definitely be checking out those items too.

Arrived today, noticed the gnomon had broken through the inner and outer cardboard packaging. After fully unpacking, checked the alignment and found it had bent about 5 or 10 degrees where the ball is at, opposite the threaded hold for the rod. Was able to carefully straighten it.Castings were fair, details were somewhat crude. The brass band with the roman numerals had some kind of oil or grease that I had to clean off. There were several places on the sphere where the paint had been abraded/chipped off. I may get some Krylon and repaint later this summer.Based on the price for this item, I'm disappointed in the damages and recommend that the packaging be improved to protect the sphere and gnomon better.For those who don't know how to align this after assembly, first of all find out what your latitude is (since you obviously have a computer, you can get that from Google Maps or other mapping software), and set the gnomon angle to match. Then if you're in the Northern hemisphere, you want the arrow to be pointing North, and if you're in the Southern hemisphere, you want it pointing South. If you happen to be directly on the Equator, you can choose either direction.

I ordered this item through amazon, however, some of it was missing. One simple call to good directions and the problem was taken care of straight away! Very satisfied with the product and customer support is the best!

Just arrived today ! Put it together with ease. I need to get a pedestal but it is a perfect addition to my greenhouse that I'm just getting started on!! It has the potential to be an heirloom!!!

The package arrived in good time, but the base and any pieces to attach the base were missing.I received the three hoops, the arrow and both end pieces for the arrow, plus an Allan wrench.I have waited a week to see whether there is a second package, but nothing has arrived.Please ship the missing parts, or I will be forced to return the item for a refund.
