Tasty old fashioned candy.
Honestly I bought them because I had no idea what it would be like. Sort of like an after dinner mint texture. I loved them. Worth the experiemnt!

Unpleasant Experience
One Star to complete review otherwise would have been NO STARS . Horrible smelling candy, discarded after realizing the odor cane from the candy. Hopefully mine was a rare occurrence because this candy is NON-RETURNABLE

Nothing special
Admittedly, I'd never heard of this candy before I ordered it and didn't know what to expect. For the amount, it was kind of expensive. The candy itself is rather nondescript, very sweet and the flavorings are very light. It wasn't bad, but I won't order it again.

So yummy!
I tried this in Edinburgh 5 years ago and forgot what exactly it was til I was searching for unique treats from around the world for my kids to try. This popped up and I remembered exactly what it was. I snapped it up and my family cleaned the bag out in about 5 minutes. It was delicious and fun to have a treat we don't find every day

A novel, tasty treat
I've never had edinburgh rock, and so I didn't know what to expect. I was thinking it would be like Candy Hearts, which I don't like at all, but this was quite different. For one thing, the cream of tartar give it a unique tart flavor - not sour, as you have with citrus, but a different sort of thing. The consistency is much softer than Candy Hearts, much more crumbly. The flavors are very mild - you can tell they have different flavors, but only just barely. They are sweet, but the sweetness is not dominating, especially in competition with the cream of tartar.Glad I purchased it, it sounded interesting and it turns out it was. Most of the family liked it, having only a chunk or two at a time, and so I will be ordering it again, either this product or a similar one.Would recommend trying at least once.

Product Picture differs from what received
Disappointed as the package had colorful candies. Every candy was white. Bad sign.It is not light weight like I thought candies might taste like.Maybe it's a cultural specialty which I don't appreciate. The taste was a bit sour. I thought maybe the candy was large sugar cubes.I rather eat a sugar cube than this candy.Unless you know exactly what to expect.....I suggest not to buy. It was a total waste of money. Cannot even use it as sugar substitute. I feel like it's a rip off. I should have read a review in advance.

Don't know flavor until you bite into one
I was so excited to try this candy, and I assumed that the package would tell me what flavors the different colors were going to be. It does not. In fact even the manufacturer's website doesn't tell. I finally found the flavors on a third party website, so let me save you some time: white is ginger, green is lime, pink is raspberry, orange is orange, and yellow is either pineapple or lemon.Pros:* Each flavor is distinct once you taste them.* If you enjoy those little uncoated pastel mints, the ones that start out somewhat hard, but then begin to soften in your mouth after a few seconds, so that if you bite down they gently melt away, you might like these candies.Cons:* It's almost impossible to tell the different colors apart. The green ones are just bright enough to pick out from the others, but the rest all kind of look alike. In my photo you can see all the pretty colors on the package, compared to the homogeneous slightly tinted off-white of the actual candies.* The outside of the package is appealing and giftable, but the inside is just a plain plastic bag. They could have been more environmentally friendly by using a waxed paper type bag, and I think it would have looked classier as well. But if they were going to use plastic, why not separate the flavors or display the candies more attractively?Because we strongly dislike the ginger flavor, and it was so hard to tell the different flavors apart, we ended up throwing most of these away. For years I've relied on my fellow shoppers' reviews to help me make informed decisions: contributing details about my own experience is my way of paying that forward.
