The Crayon Box that Talked Hardcover – October 21, 1997

I read this book aloud to my classroom. The students really enjoyed it and it has a great message.

Nice story to help children learn that we are all different but when we work together we can accomplish wonderful things!

We really like this children's book. We just bought as a gift, but then found that our older son had read it in school, too. Giving to a neighbor for their daughter. Thank you for a nice, simple, and kind read.

This is an easy read that you may want to read together with your child or discuss it with them when they’re done. It’s was a cute way to discuss not only the importance and need for our differences, but also embracing them. When we are in a world that seems to be so divisive, this book is a breath of fresh air.

The story is very cute, and easy for kids to understand. The pictures are fun, bright, and colorful. However, what I don't like is, on my Kindle, the pictures are really small. I was hoping the picture would fill the screen, like other books. I was trying to read it to a small group of kids, and the children had to pass my Kindle around to see the pictures. If the pictures were bigger I would have given it 5 stars.

I bought this book as a gift for my 3 year old son. I was looking for a story that was simple, colorful and had a good lesson. This book completely fit the bill. He loves pointing out the colors of the crayons. The story is the perfect length for my son's very typical 3 year old's attention span. The morals of the story, respect and teamwork, are translated very well. Both the author and the illustrator did a wonderful job.

The rhyming in this short story leads you through a quick tale that teaches a lesson about getting along with others and how our differences come together to make something beautiful.
