The Best A to Z of Sharks
If you are looking for a comprehensive A to Z of living sharks , this is easily the BEST YOU WILL FIND ON THE MARKET. This is a somewhat similar book to the previous Collins Field Guide to the Sharks of the World (by Leonard Compagno, Marc Dando & Sarah Fowler) but it is actually a better guide! Sharks of the World: A Complete Guide by David Ebert, Dando & Fowler has more colour illustrations & something the previous book does not have - many beautiful, photos of certain shark species (including my favourite, the smooth hammerhead). I also learnt many new, interesting & surprising facts (for example, the largest ever tiger shark was actually a fair bit longer than the largest white shark). I WHOLEHEARTEDLY RECOMMEND SHARKS OF THE WORLD to anyone who likes or is interested in sharks.

Bought as a gift.
Looks good and has lots of information on all types of shark. More like an encyclopaedia than a book

Could Have Been So Much Better
Despite the fact I received a USED and marked copy, this very extensive guide suffers from the fact the format is far too small. The book needs to be twice the size to clearly illustrate the text and and colour plates. Anyone needing spectacles will struggle with the text. I was very disappointed that despite this being a very fine reference book I was not able to get the most out of it due to the small format.
