Buy the set, don’t watch season 3
First off, the packaging here is cheap and Hannibal deserved better. Just a flimsy box holding the same editions of the seasons as sold individually. Disappointing, but I’m not going to knock this amazing show for packaging.Season 1: 9/10Season 2: 10/10First half of season 3: 4/10Second half of season 3: 6/10The first two seasons of this show are still some of the best television I’ve ever seen. The plot, pacing, acting, and writing are top-notch, with some of the best use of double-speak you’ll ever experience. It’s got some implausible moments, but they’re easy enough to brush off since they’re usually about characters that are just there for an episode or two. The five stars are for those seasons and you should absolutely buy this set just for them.Season 3, however, drops the ball incredibly hard. Characters make uncharacteristically stupid decisions, the actor they swap in for the main villain of the first half doesn’t hold a candle to Michael Pitt and is crass to the point of making the show unpleasant to watch, and the shows artsy visual style finally disappears completely up its own ass while also being of a lower quality than previous seasons. There’s also even more distracting use of blurring added in post to Gillian Anderson’s face and how dare they. She looks amazing. Some people told me that it’s worth finishing because the ending of season 3 is perfect. I disagree. While it was a beautiful note for Will Graham and Hannibal’s relationship to end on, I would have been much happier without having experienced season 3. The first two seasons are perfection and could stand on their own with the S2 finale closing the series. Season 3 is embarrassing.

Don't miss this. It's not what you think it's about.
A fantastic show. Bingewatching this is the best way to enjoy it, as you can watch the development of characters over time. This show isn't about what you start out thinking it's about. The presentation of many of the characters is well done, especially in the way the writers don't throw stuff in your face ("Hey, this guy is really . . . "), but let you figure it out for yourself, with no definitive confirmation. The production values and photography are of cinematic quality. The best presentation of this material I've seen. Think of this as the perfect horror movie, with a perfectly realized monster in Mads Mikkelsen's Hannibal. Just the idea of this happening will chill your blood. And it's not just the horror of murder and mayhem, but the idea of a being so Other, so Alien living among us which chills my blood. Are there flaws ? Sure (why isn't Jack Crawford in jail?) but they are minor and easily overlooked.I will definitely be re-watching this again and again.

Raises the Bar of Excellence for Television, Horror, and Relationships
This raises the bar of excellence for television, horror, and relationships upon television. The first season lays the ground work which blooms bloody fruit and revelation during the second. The third is elevated to the level of surreal art, drawing on the dramatic depths of the characters as they change and evolve. I've never seen anything quite as good as this.

Awesome
I absolutely love this show but not for people who don't like gore. Shipping was fast and I like that the seller messaged me before Shipping to make sure I knew that it was a region 2 dvd and give me time to cancel it if I did not know. The outside box that the dvds sit in is slightly damaged but nothing too bad you can't even notice it unless you are looking carefully.

A fascinating but understandably not for everyone series, but...
(Includes spoilers)...I loved this series when it was on television. The writing, the acting, and the visuals were always superb. At first I wasn't sure how Mads Mikkelsen could pull off a character taken over by Anthony Hopkins, but now in my mind, Mads Mikkelsen is now Hannibal Lecter. It is also a series that managed to maintain its quality, even in the 2nd season when its main protagonist Will, spent it in a mental institution, and I had my doubts as to how they could pull that off. But they did splendidly. Please note as indicated in my title that this is not a series for everyone - especially someone offended by gruesome scenes and death. Be advised this is a series about about madmen, murder, the search for the killers, and the lives infected, and affected by an insane but frighteningly gifted and charismatic killer and cannibal, and the one person who proved to be that man's weakness and vice versa. As for the complete series collection I bought and its condition? - While the 1st and 2nd season cases were fine, my copy of the 3rd season came in a case that was cracked and broken on both ends of its spine. I only noticed it after I took it out of its seal wrap and opened the case, so the damage had to have been done prior to the case being sealed in plastic- especially since I didn't find any loose pieces when I unwrapped it. The disks themselves appear unharmed and so far the 1st two disks played fine and the spine, except for the ends is relatively intact. Hopefully if anyone else buys a copy of the complete set, you won't have any kind of damage, but if so, the type that like my 3rd season copy, that does not hurt the disks. Needless to say the 5 stars I gave was for the actual series and its episodes.
