Very solid feel. Whistles loudly when ready. Looks very nice also. Yes, the handle gets hot, but that is what hot pads are for. I am happy with this purchase.UPDATE: I recant my statement about the handle getting hot. If I pull it off the stove shortly after it starts whistling, the handle is not hot at all. I like this tea pot a lot.

Fantastic kettle so far. Solid, boils quickly, whistle is not obnoxious but loud enough to hear elsewhere in the house. Handle stays cool in use on a glass cooktop. Replaced an all-stainless kettle that was a workhorse for over 20 years for us.

We had this same kettle for a number of years and when we moved, I decided to try a new kettle to go with my new kitchen...big mistake. I tried 4 other kettles and found each of the 4 were cheap junk compared to my old kettle. I finally decided to stop trying to replace my al clad kettle and ordered a brand new one to replace my old one. I am so glad that I did. There is no comparison to the quality of this kettle. The weight and finish is the same as my old one. It heats quickly on my gas stove and looks beautiful. The quality is unsurpassed and I highly recomme d this kettle to everyone,

We've purchased 2 of these kettles at $100.00 a kettle here on Amazon and they both have interior rust and are of poor quality and we won't use them anymore. They are certainly over-priced and unhealthy to use but by the time we realized it, we were beyond our return date. We won't be buying any more products that we use for eating or drinking that are made in china because this is only two of many horrible, toxic experiences on high priced stainless steel products made in china that have turned out to be toxic. We would love to buy products made in the USA but since it is nearly impossible to find stainless steel products made in USA anymore, we purchased a kettle on Amazon made in Japan that is made by Kalita Wave. It is smaller but will serve its purpose and we don't have to worry about rust and other toxins leaching into our kettle water. Maybe someday America will begin to make its own products again and we will have safety standards return to us but these big corporations will charge you $100.00 for a kettle that is not worth $5.00 and probably costs them less than that because of their profit margins anf they don't give a hoot if their products are toxic because once you own it you own it and even if they were to replace it, it would be with another toxic product. This is my 4th failed product from all-clad. We won't be purchasing this brand again..

At first i was going to send back because it was huge. Unlike this brand of cookware, the bottom doesn’t have the smooth rounded edge. It has a seam which i don’t really like. Also, Doesn’t fit the small burners. But i tried it and it heated up so much faster and i won’t have to refill as often so I decided to keep. Nice loud whistle.

Its very well made but I Wish it had a brushed stainless finish. To shiny, you can see existing marks in the finish and it becomes immediately marked up after the first careful cleaning.
