I wish I had read the fine print, but if you read close all the Mokose models are incapable of outputting 4k WITH sound via SDI or HDMI. You can record video plus sound in 4K to the TF card (I use SD cards), the USB maybe have different limitations but if you planned to output the footage with HDMI or SDI in 4K there is NO SOUND in that signal. Ok end of rant.On the good side the video quality is very good, you can output an HDMI signal to a screen and record to the SD card at the same time. You press the OK Button (with the camera pics next to it) to begin recording and the LED next to the SD card slot will flash indicating recording. Press it again to stop. This took me while to figure out!I bought two of these, the cheap one with the 3.2mm lens and the one with the 10-50mm. BOTH cameras are identical and have removable lenses and swap with each other easily. Just unscrew the lens, like a lightbulb. The 3.2mm has the IR-cut filter (to use it outside) the 10-50mm does not and the colors are CRAZY so use it inside only. I was in the middle of finding a filter for the 10-50mm to use it outside and I discovered the sound issue and abandoned these camera for my project.That's all the craziness I discovered trying desperately to make the cameras work for me, so hopefully you found it useful.

I've owned top of the line web cams, but they've all had horrible quality in less than perfect lighting situations, and mediocre quality in ideal studio lighting.I have used $12,000 cinema cameras to stream on the web when the "webcams" from major brands were unacceptable in terms of picture quality. But I needed some overhead views and a 35lb cinema camera was too big to hang overhead. So I started looking around. There were some companies making HD cameras with HDMI output, but the cost was quite expensive. I'd also tried using a $1700 DSLR for a while, with great results, but it seems a waste of a camera to have it permanently rigged as a webcam.That's where this little Mokose unit came in handy. It's not perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but the image quality is a massive upgrade from the big brand webcams that sell for nearly as much as this camera.Picture quality can reasonably cut with expensive cameras in certain limited circumstances. What it lacks is color gamut and dynamic range though. Compared to the better cameras I was using, I have to live with crushed shadows and blown highlights. In mixed lighting, the daylight lamps are too blue and the warm white lamps appear too orange, whereas the expensive cameras see the scene like the human eye where it looks natural.Given these limitations, plus the fact that the lens has considerable dispersion distortion, while being surprisingly rectilinear, I still think it does well for the price it sells for. And it is light enough to mount on an articulated arm over a bench or piano keyboard, so it is suitable for those applications.Lens focus on this camera is a manual setup. It is not parfocal (that's something that only exists on cinema lenses costing $4000 and up), so changes in zoom will through image out of focus. Set the zoom level first, then refocus. The lens "breaths" considerably, so the zoom factor may need to be touched up after focusing and then doing one final focus should have it set. This is best for static setups where you set it like a surveillance camera and forget it.Overall, it's a decent value for the money. Hopefully it proves reliable.

In the end I had to return this, but, like the title says, it's the best webcam I've ever used. The image quality is far superior to anything I've used that wasn't a DSLR/mirrorless. The construction is superb -- all metal and clearly intended to last. The cable is detachable. When it's plugged directly into a screen, the OSD allows you to control everything from brightness to color temperature to ISO. Replacing the lens is trivially easy, and the mount is standard C/CS. And what consumer webcam divulges the exact size and model of its sensor?I returned it because, in windows, I couldn't change any of the settings I could change when using the in-camera OSD, and because there's another Mokose camera, with a larger sensors, that, in windows, does allow the modification of those settings (a shame there's no ISO setting though). But if this camera met my needs, I'd certainly have kept it.

Unique and specific use for this product, but it worked perfectly. Ran each camera off a 10,000mA usb portable rechargable battery for 6 hours without any problem. Because no screen, very low power consumption. I wanted a fixed wide lens that I could manually sharpen, as I didn't want movement to change the image.I used two cameras, each to HDMI to USB converter into my laptop with OBS Studio running them as portrait to get the full length of track. They were surprisingly clear and caught the action well. Not a high end setup, but production value looked beyond the $500 I spent in gear.Very happy with the lens quality too.I'm looking forward to using the 4K mode with a sd card.

I bought one of these just to try out. I was extremly impressed, looked better than any webcam, and than some low end $250 name brand handicams. I liked this so much I have bought a second one. Works great as a USB webcam, and even better with the HDMI out. I wish the lens had a bit more range, but for the price of the whole kit, I am not complaining.I am anxious to see what kind of C Mount lens' I can get working with this.** UPDATE** I have found that this camera has issues with dark backgrounds. If you are using this as a close up shot, and your face is well lit, but your background is dark... the white balance is ALWAYS bad. You tend to look purple, and no setting in the camera to fix. I attempted to submit a request on MOKOSE's website, but their site is broken due to a badly implemented CAPTIA system you can't get past. A firmware update would be nice to resolve this issue. In the image below, I am using a 6500k light.
