Got to be honest, while this was relatively easy to set up and takes up litle space in the home (just plugs into a socket), I can't tell if the wi-fi is any better than previously. I had some places that the signal didnt reach but then upgraded to full fibre anyway which gets good speeds. Have kept this plugged in anyway as its trouble free, like an old friend, and shouldn't make the signal any worse.

I bought this to improve our home Wi-Fi coverage, mainly for our outdoor Blink cameras, smart bulbs, Ring doorbell, and to get a better signal out to the summer house and back garden. We also had issues with our upstairs TV constantly buffering, which made streaming really frustrating. After reading a few reviews, I decided to give this model a try and I’ve been really pleased with the results.The extender arrived quickly, the very next day, and was well packaged. It came in a compact box with clear instructions. The device itself is smaller than I expected, which was a nice surprise. It fits neatly into the wall socket without getting in the way and has a clean, simple design that blends into the room easily.Setting it up was straightforward and took less than 30 minutes. You download the TP-Link Tether app which guides you through the process step by step. I had one minor issue at the beginning with the network name not appearing right away, but a quick restart sorted it out. Even without much technical knowledge, it was easy to get everything up and running. The app also lets you manage signal strength and connected devices, which is a helpful feature.The performance has been excellent. The TV upstairs now streams without any buffering, and the Eufy camera at the back of the house has gone from a weak, unstable signal to a strong and steady connection. I was also impressed that the 5GHz band reaches into the garden, something I didn’t expect. Devices now automatically connect to whichever signal is strongest, and we’ve had no issues with lag or dropped connections since installing it.I’ve also made use of the Ethernet port to connect my desktop PC, which had an inconsistent signal before. It now has a solid and stable connection, even though it’s quite far from the main router. The extender supports different modes including access point and mesh, and you can also choose the power level depending on how far you want the signal to reach.Build quality is solid and the design is discreet. It feels well made and not cheap or flimsy. Once it’s in place, it quietly gets on with the job and you don’t have to think about it again.For the price, it’s great value. It does exactly what I needed and more, solving all the Wi-Fi issues we were having inside and out. TP-Link has always been a reliable brand in my experience, and this product continues that trend. I bought this to provide a 2.4ghz signal so that my smart bulbs and Ring doorbells could connect to the wifi and also, to see if it would improve wifi in the garden and summer house. I’m happy to report that this little gadget has done it all and quite effortlessly too!From unpacking to downloading and setting up the app, connecting to my wifi and being up and running with a dual system took less than half an hour. I now have 2 WiFi networks that I can connect to anywhere on my property and I can even connect to the 5ghz signal outside. For the money, I honestly don’t think you could do better than this. TPLink stuff has always been good and this is no exception. 100% recommended!
