Gibraltar Long Boom Attachment Cymbal Arm with Rotating Grabber Clamp Holder (SC-CLBAC, 18")

This attachment is designed to be connected to the shaft of a larger stand to add the flexibility of adding another cymbal without having legs on the floor. I wanted to prefix my review because there are other attachments from Gibraltar but the descriptions seem vague enough to possibly confuse you. Specifically, there is another attachment that is designed to mount on the boom arm of the stand and not the shaft of the stand.I had purchased one of these to mount a 10" splash to my kit and found this mount to be a great deal for the price. Nice big washers and a plastic tube housing to protect the cymbal from keyholing quicker. Heavy construction proves to be a benefit to keeping the cymbals nice and tight, no wobbling. Gibraltar's web site claims that this stand is NOT designed for mounting a ride cymbal probably due to the weight of an average ride cymbal. I decided to try anyway hoping that I might be able to bring one less floor stand. For the kit I was using, I had to extend the arm all the way to the very end of the gripped metal of the rod AND the rod was almost completely horizontal. I thought the ride would either brake the rod and move around too much from being attached to a single brace boom stand. I mounted my Paiste 20" Power ride to the attachment and was amazed. The cymbal or rod did not move a muscle. I even crashed the ride a couple times to test its sturdiness. It moved a hair but that's it.Bottom Line: If you are looking to add another cymbal to your kit but don't have the room on the floor for more legs or you have a tough to reach spot, this cymbal attachment can handle the job with ease.Gibraltar has a good reputation for quality equipment and this is no exception. Buy with confidence.

Gibraltar is growing and growing in my consideration, because it is a very good quality brand and at a very reasonable price. I bought this product so that I didn't have any more cymbal stands crowding the floor, but at the same time, I wanted to have as many cymbals as I wanted. It fits perfectly for its job! Now I have 2 cymbal stands and four cymbals in my set.The only negative thing I would mention is the fact that in some positions it is harder to reach the screws, but no big deal.

I'll admit, I was skeptical about buying this piece because of how cheap it is, but I made the right choice. It's a lot heavier than it looks and even though I have a 10" splash mounted to the same stand my ride is on, I have absolutely no doubt that it could hold a significantly heavier cymbal. It is adjustable at every angle, and the tip itself can also move back and forth which again I didn't expect from this cheap of a product. As soon as I pulled it it out of the packaging it was all oiled up. The parts function properly and smoothly. It doesn't slip at all (it hasn't moved an inch and I hit REALLY hard) and it could fit any size of a stand. I plan on buying more. If you are in doubt take it from someone who questioned too. If you're a drummer on a budget but not wanting to sacrifice good quality, BUY THIS NOW.

This is a great little boom arm for a splash cymbal. It is long enough to be able to adjust and accommodate 2 cymbals on the same stand. It seems durable and the locking mechanisms are secure without slipping. It is the 2nd one I have of these, and I would recommend it if you're looking for a versatile boom arm.

The good thing about this clamp/holder combo, as opposed to the other one that Gibralter makes, is this one has a third adjustment point. For that reason, it's much more precise with respect to positioning. Currently, I have a 20-inch crash/ride mounted to a hi-hat stand. it works perfectly. No problems with balance or strength. I docked this one star because I felt like the the "teeth" on the 360-degree rotation point were slightly difficult to manage at first.

If you’re looking to alleviate one of your cymbal stands, this works great to mount any size crash or splash cymbal to an existing stand. Adjustments are simple to use and very versatile. It also will lighten the load in your hardware case/bag.

Bought this as an Xmas gift for hubby to mount his small splash cymbal that was collecting dust for 3 years. Works perfectly and was easy and quick to mount! I knew nothing about drum hardware so I wasn't sure if I was buying the right thing....but this seems pretty universal and you can mount it pretty much wherever you want on the set. Excellent price, great quality. Definitely recommended.

very sturdy and well built the clamp is great and its design makes it very versatile. The whole boom attachment is very high quality and thick I use it for a splash cymbal but you could put crash cymbals on the thing as long as you've clamped it on to something thats heavy enough. If your cymbal stands are starting to crowed up your kit this thing is perfect for resolving that issue.
