Q: What is the difference between the large and small? Can this be used on any lens?

I bought the large. The small is set up for lenses that take a filter size of 49mm to 58mm. The large is set up for lenses that take a filter size of 62mm to 82mm. The way this works is it has a screw on 'filter' (metal ring) that fits onto the end of your lens. So, you need to know what your lenses filter sizes are. If you are using a DSLR, then you probably want the large. The little OMNI filters are magnetic and will attach to the end of the 'screw in metal filter ring'. Hopefully this helps.

Q: Does this work well on wide angle lenses (10 to 20mm)?

It works well on most any lenses. You are referring to the focal lengths of 10 to 20mm. I've played with it on several different lenses and had fun. You might want to google or go to the lensbaby website to see various examples of what people are capturing with these.

Q: Will this work on any lense thread size and will it work on cannon?

The kit comes with several 'step rings' which thread into the end of your lens like a filter. Having said that, I believe the initial kit comes with quite a few different sizes of step rings that can be used with several different size lenses. Not knowing the filter thread for your Canon (1 n not 2) lens, can't be sure but if its one of the more common ones (77, 67, 62 is what I have) then you're fine. It is NOT manufacturer dependent - step rings work on any type of lens.

Q: Do these cost so much because no one else makes them yet?

No one else makes them as far as I know - nor is any one else in this particular market space so I doubt you will find any other manufacturers will be making them.
