Friends: The Complete Series Collection (25th Anniversary/Repackaged/DVD)

I'm 40 and had never watched FRIENDS until a year ago on HBO MAX. I mean I had seen a few episodes here and there as a teenager because my best friend's parents were obsessed with it and never missed an episode but that's it. I was one of those teenagers who was against anything super popular and mainstream (why? No idea. I think that was just a 90s "cool" thing?). My husband was the same way and had actually never seen a single episode. WELL, boy were we missing out! We both were absolutely hooked pretty much from the very first episode to the very last. When I decided to watch the series for a second time I didn't want to deal with commercials so I went ahead and splurged on this box set. I'm so glad I did. I'm currently on my 4th rewatch and it's now my all time favorite sitcom. Every character is so funny and so lovable, this show makes me laugh even when I'm in the worst of moods. It's also the only sitcom I have ever seen that is perfect from the very first season. I find most sitcoms to be pretty cringe worthy during at least the first half of the first season but not with FRIENDS. If you thought you were too cool to watch it (like I did when it was originally on the air) then think again and give it a shot. You'll probably love it (I mean the fashion and nostalgia of the 90s and early 2000s alone makes me really happy) I'm so happy I gave it a chance! About time.

I am very happy I decided to upgrade my series of Friends from DVD to Blu Ray. The series has never looked better than it does here! All ten seasons have been formatted from the original film negatives to widescreen instead of it's regular 4:3 aspect ratio,and scanned in HD. The results are stunning! There are details I had never even noticed before in the apartment and various sets. Colors pop and are very vibrant, textures are very noticeable, and clarity is very strong! I never thought the DVD's looked that great to begin with. The picture was a bit murky and washed out on all the seasons in my opinion. On the Blu Ray release, that is no longer the case. It's almost like watching the series for the very first time! The Audio is 5.1 Dolby Digital and all the episodes sound great. Each season contains the bonus features ported over from the DVD releases, plus a bonus disc of all new bonus features and a nice book that serves as an episode guide for the entire series. The only downside to this set for hardcore fans, is that it does not contain the extended versions of certain episodes like the DVD releases did. Bonus features on season 7 on the blu set has the extended versions for four episodes that season, but that is the only season on the blu set that has the extended versions. For me that doesn't really matter because I have them on the DVD 's and after watching the Blu Ray set, I will probably never look at the DVD's again. This will always be my go to because the show looks so amazing in HD and widescreen. I can't reccomend this set enough for fans of the show who want to have this great series in their collection!
