Stainless Steel Lab Jack Scissor Stand Platform (8" x 8")

I needed a small table top stainless steel lift platform to use alongside my hydrosol distiller. This product is perfect. It's sturdy, heavy and has silicon covers on the bottom, so it doesn't move around. The height is easily adjustable and the platform is level. I don't actually intend to place anything heavy on it. Just small glass containers smaller than 6" x 6" to capture the liquid from the distiller. Great for my small projector instead of using stacks of books. I'm very happy with this item!

I originally purchased this as a device to lift a 20-ish pound object into position so it can be bolted into place. Although not my intended use this time, it would work great for hoisting a replacement garbage disposal into position until the flange can be attached. If you have ever tried this, you know the jack would be a godsend. I've also used it as an adjustable height work stand for supporting long materials at the ends beyond my miter saw. It arrived a little over-greased but that was easy enough to fix. For heavy-duty work, it would be nice if the top plate was just a little thicker, as I feel it would make for a much more secure product.

I am a scientist so I am familiar with lab jacks. I needed something I could put my laptop on to raise the camera to a flattering angle. Piles of books were not cutting it. This does and it is very reasonably priced. HIghly recommended as an adjustable, durable, strong platform for whatever you might want to put on it.

There’s so many things that this has helped with that I never even imagined I use it mostly for laboratory reasons, but there are all sorts of reasons why you need a mini jack or lift. Very well built, sturdy with grips at the bottom I don’t have one thing to say negative about this

I ordered the 8"x8" and the top plate was a little bent upon arrival, I just used my hands to lightly bend it back. Frankly based upon reading a lot of the other reviews I expected it to arrive with minor damage. As previously stated in other reviews the top and bottom stainless steel plates are very thin and will bend easily. Several of the bolts were loose. I'm sure this is to allow for free movement but it makes the jack unstable. I loosened many of the nuts and bolts and applied a few small drops of blue locktite and titened the nuts up and the jack felt significantly more stable.

I purchased this based on price and ratings, but I regret that I didn't read the reviews because most of them are one or two stars. I have not averaged the numbers, but by a cursory review, they cannot be correct because there are many bad reviews and only several good reviews with comparable number of stars. There is about a zillion of these things listed on Amazon so it becomes quite confusing as to what is the best purchase at a reasonable price. What I failed to do but what you should do is to carefully examine the pictures posted by buyers. I purchased this one thinking stainless steel would be better than softer aluminum. Wrong. This one is of some cheap stamped material whereas some of the aluminum models are cast instead of stamped. I have just ordered the latter and will be returning this one I'm sure.

This is a perfect tool to use for installing a garbage disposal. Many brands require the disposer to be lowered in order to replace the gasket. That part is easy, but reinstall is at an awkward angle and you're holding the heavy unit up while trying to engage the twist on flange. With this lab jack, it's so much easier!

Open the package which didn't look all that bad however appeared to have been shuffled around in a warehouse for quite some time. Found the top plate bent as shown in photos. Decided to sit a rather heavy item on it however within the capacity specs and operate the knob. It lifted the item with ease however did not stay level at all. This product needs to be redesigned to stay level upon a lift. I'll keep it just because it isn't worth sending back but may make some modifications to stabilize it and make it more sturdy. If you are going to be lifting items under about 8 oz then this will work for you with ease. You may need to swap the upper and bottom plates though so you'll have a flat plate on the top.
