Best ever praline
My son and daughter brought me three pralines from new Orleans. Each a different brand. This Aunt Sally's Creamy Classic was absolutely the best. Fudgy, Creamy and the taste I have been looking for over 50 years. Most pralines seem to be just sugared candy, hard and not great flavor, taste like brown sugar. These melt in your mouth and I LOVE them. Will order again even though they are a bit pricey for the size. They were packed well and survived the trip across country with no damage to either the package or the candy.

Great condition.
Delicious. Much smaller than they used to be but apparently everything is affected by inflation. Arrived on time and in perfect condition. Thank you.

Whatever happened to old fashioned pralines?
I keep thinking I'll find some pralines that I call "sugarrie" at least not chewy or fudgy. People that make candy will kknow what I mean. My order were considered "original" and specified not fudge and chewy. They are fudgy and I might add fairly hard to bite thru...they are delicious, but I think a tad old and dry. Thats for sure...they are hard and dry. I used to get pralines thin pan cake looking with pecans piled in the middle ..not all gound up...and with a host of spices ...whatever, these were expensive for something different to what I wanted.

Not quite what I wanted
Growing up in Texas, we used eat at this great Mexican restaurant and they always had pralines for sale at the cash register. They were delicious and had a great - almost crumbly texture - like Dickies Peanut Patties (which are on Amazon!). I took a chance on these based on the reviews and I have to say, they aren't quite what I wanted. The pecans have a wonderful flavor, but the texture of these, as it says on the package, are creamy. I didn't think that meant chewy. The candy part is pretty chewy - almost like thin caramel. And, while it does have a great brown sugar flavor, that's all I taste unless I get a whole pecan in the bite. So, I won't be buying these again. But if you like chewy caramel-like pralines, than this is it! Just don't expect a crumbly, melt in your mouth consistency.

No way are these the pralines I remember from this shop.
I ordered some of these a few weeks back. I have been going to Aunt Sallies in the Quarter since I was a kid in the 60s, and these are not the pralines I remember. The pralines you could get in the Quarter then were pretty thin, sugary, and creamy. The pralines I ordered recently were thick, with minimal pecans, and an unsavory fudge-like consistency. What happened, Aunt Sallies?? Not happy—I pitched the second box. They tasted old. I had raved about the shop to friends, and was embarrassed to serve these. Please do better.Very disappointed Southern lady. 🫤

Yum
They were great but didn’t have as many pecans as they used to.

This is NOT the Original Classic recipe.
Take note which type of pralines you are ordering. I thought I had ordered the Original Classic recipe pralines, but I mistakenly ordered the Creamy Classic recipe. I didn't realize there were two types of praline made by Aunt Sally's. I did not care for the creamy pralines at all. They are too soft and the texture is too thick. Also, the flavor is different. and not in a good way. Wish I could return them. The Classic Orignal recipe is incredibly delicious. The creamy type is not, to me.
