I am not sure about using on carpet, should be ok if tightened properly. You have to put it together so you can position arms where you want or just not put them on. It’s a great gadget if you have little room

how does E fit on to F its black thing in the tube but cant get F to push together

Sorry can’t remember the black bit but I think it’s hidden inside the tube I found this easy to assemble took around 10 minutes best thing ever saves so much space on wash days

What’s the maximum weight this pole can carry?

I don't know what exactly the max weight is, but I think from my experience it is robust and stable. The max I tried was like 5 jeans and 10 shirts. It worth every penny.
