this replaced my 15yr VHF and wow, big improvement. I can actually hear radio calls. Thought it was the antenna for a couple of years. So far so good. The GPS acts as a backup to the chartplotter of the same age that is working fine at the moment...for now.. haha. Fast delivery too!

Moisture in display?
Just installed mine but noticed there is moisture inside the display. Will return and try for another one. Hoping it was just a manufacturing defect. My former radio which was by the same company lasted for 12 years.

Used like new was a real bargain.
The radio was easy to install and has key functions similar to those on my Standard Horizon handheld VHF. Consequently the radio was easy to learn to use. I entered my MMSI number which I obtained free through the US Power Squadron web page and activated the DSL function. There is capability to link it to my chart plotter but I haven’t done that yet. Internal GPS works well with no need for an external antenna even though it is mounted below deck.I purchased separately a flush mount kit to mount it in a bulkhead with other instruments on my sailboat. It is a very clean installation with no exposed wires or brackets.
