Best gumbo flavor 😋
This is the best gumbo in my opinion. The flavor is perfect. I add a little extra rice, shrimp, sausage to stretch it out a little more.

Mikey Approved..
I got this soup for my mother whom I refer to as Mikey (certain ages know the name reference lol) being that she is so picky about what she likes to eat. I was pleasantly surprised that she keeps asking for this soup. I use about 3/4 cup of water and add onion and garlic powder and a squeeze of tomato paste. Her only complaint was not enough rice so you can easily add a couple tablespoons of rice and water to the pot prior to adding soup let it cook a bit then add soup. I had some extra chicken I also threw in. You can either use this soup as a base and go wild or just heat it up for a quick meal. Just happy Mikey likes it. 😉

Watery
Not for me. Very little flavor, or much of anything. Too watery. Got spoiled real gumbo in MS and LA. This is more like broth than soup.

Great Flavor
I love this soup for sloppy joes! Brown 1 lb hamburg, drain, in separate bowl, add 1 T brown sugar, 1 T mustard, 1/2 cup ketchup and mix & add can of chicken gumbo & mix & add to your drained hamburger!Makes great sloppy joes!

Campbell's Chicken Gumbo soup makes the BEST Sloppy Joe's
Chicken Gumbo is so hard to find in the store. We use to make Sloppy Joe's and we will go through a case in 2-3 months. For some reason only 2 stores stock it and that is sporadically..Ever since I was a kid (born 1973) Sloppy Joe's have been an easy dinner that is a favorite. Our kids make it and my grandmother made it. 4 generations have been making and TBH I can't stomach any other Sloppy Joe (I'm looking at you Manwich). I get pretty mad when the stores are out of stock so I can't imagine what I would do if Campbell's decided to phase it out, like they have to other flavors. Everyone I have fed the following recipe to has initially thought it sounded gross or weird but after the try it, they love it, eat a ton of it and then it becomes their go to recipe. Just give it a try.Sloppy Joe's RecipeIngredients1 pound of ground beef1 can Campbell's Chicken Gumbo Soup1/4 to 1/3 cup Tomato Ketchup1-4 Tbsp Prepared Yellow MustardChoice of Bread shapeDirections: Brown of ground beef, drain as much fat as you like, stir in Soup, Ketchup and Mustard. Let it simmer for 5-10 minutes. Add more Ketchup and Mustad to taste.Serve over warm bread medium of choice.Notes: no need to add water to soup, we are using it right out of the can.The amounts of Ketchup and Mustard a starting point so start with a 1/4 cup of Ketchup and 1 Tbsp of Mustard then add more to taste at an appropriate 4 to 1 ratio. I use more because it makes more of a sauce and we eat the sandwiches open face with a fork.

Tasty broth and rice soup
Well, it's not the same. It's a great broth and rice soup with BITS of chicken and okra. You'll need to add more protein and veggies to bring it up to par.
