Very fun, but SO much different than the PC version.
I LOVE this game. It is so fun. I have seen many poor reviews based on the fact that it is not like the PC game... They ARE completely different, but Sims 2 for PS2 has a story line unlike the PC version where you are free to do basically whatever you want. In the Sims 2 for PS2 you will find yourself progressing to new exciting areas with different objects, and more sims you can interact with. It is a lot of fun, but I would NOT recommend this to anyone looking for a game identical to the PC version. If you love adventure games, then this is definitely a game for you. I am a sims fanatic, and I also love this game despite the many differences between this game and the PC game. You create a sim(the options are almost endless, and you can unlock more by completing certain tasks inside of the game.) Your sim will live with different room mates from time to time, and you will have goals and objectives that you will need to complete to get to a new location. If you wish to do so, you can stay in a certain home if you wish, but you won't be able to unlock new locations or progress through the story. Each house has its own problem or purpose for having you there, and some locations are more challenging than others. You will always be able to travel back and forth between houses at any point in the game. You will find yourself in the country side, a cliff side retreat, a cruise boat, and even a movie set. The controllers you use are the analog stick and the x, square, circle, and triangle button. However this can be changed by hitting the select button. Some similarities with this game and the PC game is that you get to create a sim with a bunch of different options. You will also get to interact with other sims, get married, and have jobs. In free play, you will be able to have a family and I have not experimented much with free play so I am not sure if you can actually have children or how big the capacity is for the family. Some differences include not being able to get pregnant. You also are only able to use 1 sim in story mode unless you have more than 1 person playing the game with you(however you will be able to play as different sims depending on the location you are at.) The controls are also different, but again you can always change this. There aren't any expansions packs of course either. And you will not be able to go to "community lots". All of the lots in this game are residential. You also can not take pictures/videos and send them to your computer. Custom content does not work with this game but again that should be obvious. This game has a lot of replay value. I have never been able to defeat it because it takes SO long, but I always find myself wanting to start over and I never feel like I am playing the same game twice.

SUPER HAPPY WITH MY PURCHASE!
I’m happy with my purchase! I’m a huge sims fan & the sims 2 was on of my favorites and back then I had my own however I was a kid and didn’t take good care of it. So, I had to buy a replacement for my collection. This one was in great condition hardly any scratches & plays smoothly, it didn’t have the manual/booklet however didn’t matter at the end because game play was was great!! 10/10 I recommend this seller if you are looking for preowned games.

Perfect
No problems at all. My ps2 had trouble reading blue disks so I read that you gotta put two strips of masking tape on the pattern side of the disk. Now it reads perfectly

The Sims 2 Console Version
I'm not sure what it is about this game, especially when compared to The Urbz, The Sims (Console) and The Sims: Bustin Out. They basically all have similar plots, IE, unlock new locations, advance through a career (or popularity in The Urbz), and help out some of the characters you meet in the game. The best explanation I could think of with this game is that, unlike The Sims, Bustin' Out, and The Urbz, TS2 (Console) doesn't keep the player as engaged as the other games do.I've played this on XBox and now on Playstation 2, having ordered it for the latter console because my boyfriend gave it to me with some of his games, and we have a bit of a different taste in games. (However, I was pretty stoked when I saw he also had Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers for it, since I enjoyed that game.) What I liked about TS2's console version was that you could come up with different combinations for foods and you could now actively play as a ghost and haunt other Sims. It was also cool getting to create an alien character in Create-A-Sim, since you can't do that on the computer version unless you use the boolprop cheat.Unfortunately, these traits can only go so far in making the game entertaining. It seemed like Story Mode's gameplay was the kind that didn't allow for as much open-ended gameplay. In the previous console Sims games, you could go and do your own thing, such as explore the different areas in The Urbz, or play on mini-games in Bustin' Out. In The Sims 2, I felt like I was just biding my time until I achieved the Sims' goals and got to unlock a new location. I didn't feel like I was doing that in the other games, and after only a few days of owning this game I got bored and stopped playing, just like the time I owned it for my XBox. A game should be engaging, but with this, I would find myself grabbing a book to read until my Sim got back from work.Another downside is that you can't have a Sim for both Story Mode and Free Play mode, and your Sims can't have children, which I found pretty disappointing. It would have been interesting to see the pregnancy and aging from the computer version on the console version.I think I might play through the rest of this, just so I can say I beat the game. However, after that, I don't think I'll be playing it again.

I HAVE WAITED 10+ YEARS TO PLAY THIS AGAIN
I AM a Sims Geek. 100%. this is one of the BEST games by sims, and Urbz Sims in the City. I haven’t played it since i was a teenager, and i found it on Amazon!! JUST WOW. I could not ever express to you how excited I am to play this game. My husband found two playstation2’s that we are going to Frankenstein together that will hopefully work so i can play this.Story mode on this game is amazing. Character creation is next level, especially with the addition of Aliens crash landing in the game. I could cry
