Swad Pure Ghee Clarified Butter, 32 Ounce

This is the first time I can recall ordering this brand of ghee (although friends from India used to cook with this in their US kitchens). My grandmother and mother made their own, or just used butter -- but I think I will be buying this product myself for the future. It is a really good product. I can't believe I was buying a different brand before this!This has a lovely smell and taste. Absolutely fresh and good quality rendered butter fat. I just used some for buttering a pan for baking, use it in cooking wherever oil or melted butter might be used. I also try to eat a little every day for the essential fatty acids found in good butter oil (which is what Ghee is -- butter oil, with the water and milk-residue removed).Weston Price used to recommend that people take a teaspoon full or more of butter oil and of cod liver oil a day to get essential nutrients missing from the modernized and over-processed 20th C. diet that spread through the world, causing malnutrition and bone and teeth problems in people who stopped eating their local traditional diets. Ideally the butterfat should come from cows on grass, eating fresh-growing grass in spring or fall. Taste is uniquely delicious ... for use in cooking and using as a spread on chapati (breads). Health benefits to the body as well.

Like the taste of the product.The quality is A1.

I keep a jar of this next my stove at all times. It imparts the rich flavor of brown butter but has a high smoke point. I use this regularly to sear meat and fish and, of course, for Indian dishes. Great for steak! Much richer (and less expensive) than the bland organic brand I used to buy at the supermarket.

It’s a great Indian brand and home like taste

I have previously purchased a different brand of ghee on amazon, but when the price skyrocketed I decided to try this brand. It was okay. The packaging was decent, but not near as well packaged compared to the other brand I purchase. The lid keeps getting stuck - not sure how - to the point I need my husband to take it off. Flavor wise it is just okay. There are no funky smells or taste. The price was good for the size, but I can't say that I will stick with this brand.

It’s so not look like ghee it was more like oil. Very loose texture. Disappointing .
