Purple Ghost Japanese Maple - Acer palmatum Purple Ghost 6 - Year Live Plant

I am very happy with this plant so far, but there is a question of the graft may have failed. The leaves are green with red spots and red stems at this point. I have discussed with several other nursery owners, and they all agree to give it time and see. The graft appears to be healthy and I think perhaps it needs a year in the sunlight and good soil. The trunk is very straight and firm. This is a beautiful, but very young plant. I am hopeful!

I bought 2 of these trees.I opened them the day of arrival, and re-potted both and watered them.Both look dead to me and I'm so disappointed ! I understand this was not going to be a 6 ft beautiful bushy Tree ,but for over $ 100 dollars plus ...dead really !!! Sad.DON'T BUY !!!!

A nice little sapling came in the mail, looks very healthy, roots weren't too bound, leaves were a gorgeous deep red, almost this cultivar's signature purple. There were a few marks on the leaves that I'll have to watch over time to make sure they're not a problem, otherwise this would be a 5/5. However after seeing the first come in the mail, I immediately ordered another.I hope to edit this after a month to update on the plant just in case there are any hidden problems that will show themselves. If there aren't, this easily deserves a 5/5. What a gorgeous little plant. Not cheap, but I live in Dallas TX, I work in landscaping, and I can't find this cultivar after searching all the local nurseries. After telling people about a full sun purple Japanese Maple, they all want to see it. Hopefully I can spread this around the area in time.EDIT: The two plants I ordered did very well. Would buy again.

Well I received my 3rd purple ghost and its RED like the first two. Healthy and vibrant!!! But hmmmm.. I must be color blind. Cuz it's red as the other two I bought

I am a degreed horticulturalist and buy nursery plant material for a living. For $22 these are very small. You need to set your expectations to receive a small plant. I have a hard time believing these have been grafted for two full growing seasons. Anyhow, where else am I going to get these hard to obtain varieties. The seller would be better served by letting you know up front that you are getting a plant no thicker than a pencil led and the premium paid is for his passion to make these available to addicted to plants. So 5 stars for passion, 1 star for size - 3 stars overall.

Only 10 inches tall, as described. For a very rare and hard to find plant...good deal. Packed very well, with a 2 foot bamboo stick to be used later as a prop. Solid graft job and large root ball. Feb delivery, spring is 2 months away, let's hope it is in fact what I ordered! Prepare for a very small starter/liner plant. Perfect for bonzia or container until ready for earth planting.

I had already ordered 3 Japanese Maples from this same company. They were 2-3 ft. tall and came in their own box in a 2 gal nursery container. Because of this past order, I ordered 3 more tree. I was charged $15.50 x 3 = $46.50This tree(?) came packaged with 2 other very small (6-10 inch) trees(???) in one priority box. One looked completely dead.Such a disappointment!!!!

Was tiny when it came, and struggled for a month or so, but has now taken off! Sprouted three or four beautiful new leaves. Hoping it makes it to a large tree!
