This sharpener works great for all my artist pencils. It reminds me of the old fashioned pencil sharpeners that hung on the wall at School. It really grips the pencil and gives a nice sharp point without the lead breaking inside the pencil like a lot of the cheap plastic sharpeners do.

This is my go-to classroom sharpener. It sharpens the kid's pencils to such a fine point. The kids can easily use it, and it makes zero sound.

The Angel 5 is hands-down the best sharpener of art tools I’ve ever used. I have a degree in illustration and first encountered this beautiful device in school, and immediately was astonished at not only the quality, consistency, and angle of the cut for graphite pencils, but for charcoal pencils too! It is the only device I’ve ever used that can effectively sharpen charcoal to a fine point without breaking it, and for that I give it my highest compliments. It is a must own for artists, and I have since purchased more Angel 5s for friends as gifts.

Doesn’t work easily for soft graphite pencils. Points break off while sharpening, get stuck in the works, it has to be taken apart. Remove your soft pencil before it’s done sharpening to a sharp point.When it works (harder cores I suppose) it makes a great point and is easy to use.

I love this sharpener and my students are able to use it with ease. The only thing I have a problem is the clamp that holds it down. It falls easily and isn’t very steady.

Maybe it's the lockdown talking, but this little purchase has been the highlight of my remote-schooling year. Yes, it DOES grind a pencil down faster than ... NOT SHARPENING IT. I don't care. These points are SO wickedly sharp, it's a delight. I sharpened all of our worn-down, useless pencils that I had painfully tried to sharpen with the manual sharpeners that we've collected over the years. They just can't compare. Love that I don't have to use the desk mount because this thing holds the pencil for me, so I can hold it and grind away joyfully. Emptying is messy. It always is. The plastic bin means more static will make those little shavings cling. I don't care. WORTH IT.

The good-- it's not as loud as an electric sharpener! The pencil clamp holds the pencil in nicely and the crank works easily. It feels like a quality product. Unfortunately, the table clamp didn't work at all. The peg going through the sharpener wasn't long enough and the plastic piece that goes under the table seemed a bit to small to actually hold the sharpener in place. The device kept twisting and turning while our students were trying to use it. In addition, this sharpener was turning their pencils into spears! For a class of 2nd graders that's more than half rambunctious boys, this is not good! Even for my own personal pencils I don't want as long of a tip as this sharpener creates.
