Honda 16100-Z0Y-M42 Carburetor Kit with Gaskets

I have my share of gas powered equipment. I use fuel stabilizers and / or drain my fuel systems when I know I'm not going to use that piece of equipment again any time soon and still it seems every other time I go to use one, I've got another dirty carburetor problem (GD 10% ethanol gasoline). The availability of reasonably priced replacement carbs makes life so much easier. Swap out the carb and get to work. When time permits, clean / rebuild the one you took off and put it on the shelf for next time (look on youtube if you need help). So far I've been able to find replacements here on Amazon for everything I've needed. Heck, some of the replacements have been cheaper than a rebuild kit! Most of these carbs are pretty simple and really only need a quick disassembly, cleaning and reassembly. Any way this one fit my HRX217K perfectly, machine fired right up and is running smoothly. Great!

Had to return two carburetors that I received before I finally received one that was not damaged during shipping. The carburetor works fine. My Honda HRX217K5VKAA started on the first pull after I replaced the carburetor. It also starts right up when the engine is hot. The non-start when hot was the original issue that caused me to replace the carburetor. I am happy now.

Old or bad gas can clog a carburetor. Being a lawnmower even dirt can get past the filter. Trying to fix the carburetor is a waste of your time. Takes 15 mins from start to finish to install. One pull and it starts. When you store your lawnmower for the winter, unscrew the bottom fuel bowl and drain all the gas out. Use compressed air to blow fuel out the tank and lines and after a few mins put back together. This will help save your new carburetor. Also always use fuel stabilizer.

I have a 9 year old HRX2174HZA lawnmower with a GJAAA engine. I only run nonethanol gasoline and routinely clean the carburetor with Sea Foam. Last fall it wanted to surge constantly. This winter, I disassembled the carburetor and cleaned everything. The engine was still surging and at times hard to start. After much research, I learned I could purchase a new carburetor #16100-Z0Y-M42, control assembly #16600-Z8D-840 and thermowax #16620-Z8D-305. I purchased these parts and installed them on my lawnmower. It started right up and it ran like it was new. Total cost through Amazon was about $72. Very happy.

Exact replacement for my Honda HRX217HYA mower from Home Depot. As others said you do not get the air cleaner gasket so I had to reuse the old one but it was still in good condition. After installing it started on the very first pull. Runs great no adjustments needed, very happy.

Perfect replacement

Bought an HRX217 from a friend that was tired of the erraticly high RPMs. I broke it down, cleaned and put carb back together... new problem, low RPMs choked out on the slightest challenge. So bought this OEM replacement, swapped out the old one and mower started right up first pull. It now runs like new. As others have mentioned you will need to reuse the gasket on the airbox. This kit only has 3 of the 4 gaskets included.
