I can't believe I've waited so long to get this Handle Saver!!
These handle Savers are worth their weight in gold. I do construction and work them pretty hard, and have had to replaced more handles that I can remember. I now have them on all of my axes and sledgehammers and haven't had one break on me since. If you use an axe or a sledgehammer on a regular basis they are definitely a time and money saver. Nothing worse than getting halfway through a job or project and your tools break, and you have to put a new handle on or get a new tool. The installation is easy, does take some force but it pushes on real snug which is good because you don't have to worry about it moving around on you. I definitely recommend.

Looks good to me
I always wrap the sledge hammers and axes with black tape to protect the tool from the times when I miss the target and the handle the target. That has always worked okay. Just add more tape as the tape gets messed up from a miss. Well, using a sledge and wedge to split wood, tape was not good enough. I missed a few times and the tape didn't get damaged but I could see that the handle was getting crooked. The wooden handle was getting broken under the tape. The black tape helped against the wooden handle from getting gouged but the misses and the handle hitting the wedge broke the handle. This big rubber sleeve should absorb the blunt force damage that the black tape couldn't handle.

Perfect fit
I have not used it yet, but the fit was perfect. I put a little dish soap on the handle and it slid right on. No problem.

Has saved the handle
Protects the maul handle. Had to build up the handle with some glue and tape. It does want to twist when it is hit but does the job.

Boil water add a dash of dish soap, put it on
Tight fit is good, just need to boil for 5 minutes, water and soap the shaft and then push it on. Good to go, and have had these on sledges for many years protecting my shafts. Easily worth the expense.
