UPDATE: Used this under a fabric tablecloth while family visited for a couple of weeks. It appears to have done its job well. No marks or damage to report.ORIGINAL:Works well. I cut it to the size of our acacia dining table and placed it under a tablecloth for extra protection. I really wish they just sold proper tablecloths with this type of backing. It would make things a lot simpler, but I sort of understand why they don’t because it would make washing the tablecloth difficult. Having it separate will do; I can use it with a variety of fabric tablecloths. Time will tell if it actually does its job. Hoping it protects against moisture and heat.

We haven't used this yet, but it fits, arrived on time and the quality is as expected.

We just bought a new 70" dining table and are relieved to have found this liner to protect it. Although the liner is thin, it is very effective in protecting our table from the heat from our dishes. Our spills went through our tablecloth but not the liner. It wasn't stained after we wipe up the spills immediately. The size was larger than what we needed but It was very easy to cut with a pair of scissors. It also keeps our tablecloth in place.

I bought this table pad specifically because of the elastic, it is much longer than what is in the description?
