Dangerous product and Fire Hazard!
I ordered two of these lanterns that Amazon processed promptly as usual. After filling with high quality lamp oil to the manufacturer's "fill-line", (that I also got from Amazon), I tried them both out. Both leak severely at the vertical joints that connects the tank to the two curved uprights that are hollow. If the lamps, (when properly fueled), are not kept perfectly upright the fuel will leak out around the areas described. Any amount of tilt the the unit will cause this malfunction and if the wick is burning then you have one serious situation on your hands. These lamps are nowhere close to the old fashioned ones some of you older folks will remember. Everyone in New England had several scattered around their homes and were a trusted companion when the winter storms hit and the power went out. These are very cheap "knock-offs" that CAN cause severe injuries or worse just by moving them around a little. They can be fixed if you know what you are doing by the application of a quality two part epoxy. You will need to throughly prepare the surfaces before you try this fix but be careful on this as the metal is waffer-thin. I used a fine wire brush and alcohol to prep the area then applied a marine application epoxy and this fix seems to work. The finished repair is ugly but I didn't by the darn things for decoration but for real-world emergencies. I am truly lucky to have tried-out the lamps prior to really needing them.Amazon really can't be held accountable for this as the product looks fine etceteras but now they know that at least some of this product line is faulty in the extreme and in my opinion the whole product line should be dropped and replaced it with a high quality unit preferably made in the USA. Be careful folks and please test these lamps before you really need them as I did. During the middle of a power outage is not the time to discover the leaking hazard.

You get what you pay for..
This is a very cheaply made reproduction oil lantern, being sold at a pretty cheap price. The tension cap uses a biased coil spring, which means that it every time you lift the globe it wants to pop off because all the pressure is on only one side of the cap. The metal is very thin and has a general feel of cheapness.. but.. if you want something better you'll need to spend twice as much to get it.I run this lantern on my patio, filled with citronella lamp oil. It does a fair job at lighting our evening conversations and it confuses the flying insects sufficiently enough to minimize interruptions from bites and stings. Used in combination with a decent fogger, it does exactly what I needed it do (and nothing more).

Mainly use for show but I wouldn't recommend for actual use regularly
This lantern is cute but kinda cheaply made. Works okay. Mainly use for show but I wouldn't recommend for actual use regularly.

Not what I expected for the price. Thought they would be a little more durable / heavier. They do work as an operating lantern, but just not very well made.

The Metal is "tinny"
The lamp looks nice but is very "Tinny" to the touch. The glass is also very thin and if you aren't craeful it will break easily.

LOVE IT!
I was very pleased with the purchase. The lamp is very attractive and it works just as I had hoped! I purchased it to use when I have a power outage, but I have been lighting it in the evening...it casts a warm ambience in the room...no odor, no smoke...a nice light for a nice price.
